Earlier this week a rumor came out that Call of Duty: Ghosts and Titanfall will only run at 720p on the Xbox One. Several journalists have confirmed this rumor, with Microsoft claiming "the game looks great!" while suspiciously never debunking the rumor. Rumor has it Infinity Ward is working alongside Microsoft in an attempt to fix things before launch. IGN has been doing CoD gameplay all this week, and for the first time ever it's been played on a PlayStation, rather than the typical Xbox (IGN stated the game was running at 1080p). Even more so, all multiplatform Xbox One games have a review embargo against them until release date, including CoD, Battlefield 4, and Assassin's Creed. An insider (who revealed several things from E3 and more recent events) claims the Xbox One OS is suffering from crashes and stuttering, and frame rates on games suffer after extended periods of time. This is a big deal because Microsoft is aiming to push the non-gaming portion of the console, which takes up a large portion of the console's RAM limitations, leaving gamers pissed off.
As a humorous response to the rumors, today Sony confirmed Call of Duty: Ghosts runs at a clear 1080p.
