So what are some of the biggest problems with a HGSS-On game?
*Lack of inconsistent draw power
*Lack of energy resources to attack consistently
*Apparently there is fire and fighting everywhere
*Retreat has become more difficult
*Difficulty building up and attacking with Stage 2's
This deck most heavily addresses the issues of retreat and energy allocation. Metagross grants free retreat to anything with a psychic energy attached, and Mismagius can move psychic energies. Thus allowing for an easy to use Smeargle.
Cards such as Emboar, Magnezone, Gengar, and Donphan are all going to exist in the format, and with the use of Jirachi, it is possible to get around their high HP and devolve them. Jirachi also brings back discarded energy, keeping a possible string of Metagrosses attacking, building up damage on the bench, slowly but surely.
Yes the deck does have issues with Serperior, as well as issues with very powerful basic Pokemon, but the deck should be able to work around these threats.
