Hi there, its pokenerd again, and this time with the Book Thread! Here you can talk about your favorite books, what you liked or disliked about new books, and what books you are currently reading. Just to start it of and give you an example of a successful post:

I just finished the last book in the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger, and Inheritance) by Christopher Paolini. I also just read The Son of Neptune, the next book in the Heroes of Olympus trilogy by Rick Riordan. A book I am waiting to get is the next book in the Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfield, Goliath. If anyone hasn't read that series, I highly recomened it.

'Couple a rules, as always

1. Keep it civil. There are younger members here
2. If what you are saying will reveal something about the book, put it in a spolier tag PLEASE! We don't want to ruin the books for anyone.
3. This thread is for intelligent discussion about FICTIONAL books. No non-fiction or adult content in novels discussed here.
4. Have fun and enjoy reading!

I voted for all the ones I've read at least one of in the series(even ones I don't like that much), Pendragon probably being my favorite.

Other notable series's that I've read one or more of include Maximum Ride, Maze Runner, Winnie the Pooh and Alex Rider.

My life.

Some of my favorites include The Maze Runner Series, the Hunger Games Series, Divergent (Soon to be getting a sequel :D), and The 11th Plague.

Divergent is more of an unknown to many type of book, but it's actually pretty amazing, I definetely recommend it.

Andandand, Looking for Alaska (More mature of a book) by John Green (Might be an e at the end of green)(I lied, no E) is very good. The Fault In Our Stars is going to be book of the year next year.

Nerdfighteria FTW, DFTBA

I'm extremely surprised that Twilight is not on the list.
But it's not like I'd vote for it.

But...Twilight isn't a book...its overpriced fire-making material

On the topic of Twilight, it really isn't that horrible of a book.

/totally hasn't read all of the books in the series

Halo books were ok, nothing too special. Just saw them as a marketing campaign to bring in more money off a franchise that already makes millions.

Yeah, I haven't read Twilight, so I didn't think of it.

Divergent is getting a sequel!!! That's awesome! I wonder when its coming out?

All that's been released about it is that it will be titled "Insurgent" and is slated for a 2012 release date.

My favorite book series are the Halo series book, based off the Xbox game! I really enjoyed it!

Not my favorite series, that would have to go to Pendragon, but still great books.

I voted for Rick Riordan's books and 'Other'. I forgot to vote for The Hunger Games series.

For 'Other', you all need to read the Tunnels series by Rodrick Gordon and Brian Williams. Like, right now.

I'm currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring, by JRR Tolkien.

How do I say this with out shouting about how much I love the Percy Jackson series.....THE BEST SERIES EVER. READ IT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Oh wait....

I'll be honest, I haven't read a real book in years. I switched to reading manga ever since my first year of Highschool.

My favorite manga series is Fullmetal Alchemist :D

I read Twilight and it was ok. The first and last ones were probably the best of the series.

I liked the Kane Chronicles, but I'm an Ancient Egypt nut. I also voted for the Harry Potter series.

I have not finished the Paolini series so I can't comment on them.

The Hunger Games was amazing. I read the first book and I can't wait to get Catching Fire and Mockingjay, the story was so excellent the writing so intriguing I literally couldn't put this book down. Seriously, if you haven't read it, read it.

I finally got Son of Neptune after 2 months of being on hold and I'm on the 6th chapter. I love that book and reccomend it and Riordan's other books to anyone who likes a good fiction story. I also really like Harry Potter, 39 Clues, Peter and the Starcatchers, The Phantom Toolbooth, and The Chronicles of Narnia.
