nice list ive read the first book of psyran and thought it was awsome just couldnt afford to buy the rest untill i get some money but licked it alot.
Yeah I totally feel you man. I NEVER have any money lol. I don't get an allowance so I have to work to buy things like that. But I got my Psyren volumes from good ol' Shonen Jump issues and last year's book fair at school!
But for sake of being on topic:
I personally think FUNimation is the best of the dubbing companies imo (is that what they're called?) I love their voice actors, they're great. The lady who played Misuzu's aunt in the FUNimation dub of Air was absolutely AWESOME. And whoever did Nami's voice (One Piece) was pretty good too. Zoro's voice was meh, but immensely better than the 4Kids one. So was Sanji's lol.
I don't know if anyone has done this yet, but I'd like to raise the manga vs. anime question.
I have a fondness for both variations, for some completely different reasons.
The two are some very different experiences! It's almost like book vs. book movie.
Now, usually the manga comes first. Made almost completely by the artist with their own style and charm, which is what I love about manga. And usually the anime adaptations of the manga keep that artist's style and charm, which is one of the things I love about the two. But there's just something about sitting down with a manga on a snowy or rainy day (just like a regular book) and reading till your heart's content. It kind of feels warm and cozy and makes you want to not get up and...it's just hard to explain. Allthough, with anime, you get to watch everything moving and it works better as anime than manga, mostly because it's usually easier to understand things like fight scenes while watching the anime, it's sometimes better than keeping track of motion lines and arrows if you're reading a manga. But anime is sometimes annoying, because you can't either find the English or Japanese versions of what you want to watch, plus missing episodes and copyright problems. There's also the fact that manga companies are rapidly running out of options, rapidly going downhill (RIP, Tokyopop! I hope we'll have Shonen Jump forever, allthough Shojo manga would be nice) so manga is somewhat becoming hard to find, making it harder to enjoy. (Which is why I turn to trusty public libraries and school libraries for manga. A lot of manga I've read that turned out to be really good I've found at libraries.)
So I like them both evenly. I don't prefer one over the other, though it can depend on my mood.
So which are you?
(there go my dreams of being a professional mangaka!)
