So I was running a D&D campaign, and my players were in a dungeon. The battle that followed wasn’t exactly life or death, but it was a real nuisance. After it ended, I said “Oh wait, I forgot some doors” and added said doors to the unfinished map of the room. Turns out the party’s entire plan of action would’ve changed had I included the doors, and they haven’t let me live it down since.
