what is the role of Darkrai Ex here? just for using dark pulse?

Also, I think AZ and hex maniac are 2 important supporters in this deck
 
Here's my recommendation:
-1 Professor Birch's Observations (Judge can help against Night March)
-1 Super Rod (Not Necessary)
-1 Acro Bike
-1 Darkrai EX (Not really that good unless you run Max Elixir)

+1 Judge (Destroys Night March)
+2 Professor Sycamore (You lose to first turn Trevenant and first turn Vileplume without 4)
+1 Yveltal-EX (If one is prized it can be tough with only two)
