  • 3 Yveltal EX
    1 Darkrai
    1 Absol
    4-4 Pyroar
    2-2 Raichu / 2 Baby Yveltal 2 other cards

    1 Escape Rope
    1 Evosoda
    1 Shadow Circle
Energy:

  • 4 DCE
    5 Fire
    5 Dark
    2 Rainbow
Strategy:
The strategy is to use Pyroar and Yveltal as the main attacker. Pyroar should be active most of the time unless your against an Empoleon deck or something like that. Yveltal is there for big bursts of damage if Pyroar hasn't come through for you. Raichu is there for Yveltal, Lugia, and Empoleon. A lot of other cards are self explanatory. Baby Yveltal
can be there if you can't get a hold of Raichu.

Also, can you tell me what I can cut for the Raichu line, just an idea.

RE: Yveltal EX / Techs

It's pretty hard to give advice when you have so many Pokemon going on all at once, especially when it's all one ofs with very little to no synergy.

If you're willing to add/sub in cards, you've listed two cheap but powerful cards in your list: Reshiram's Blue Flare can be powered easily and quickly with Blacksmith, and the non-FA Resh costs under a dollar. Leafeon is a bit more expensive but hits harder the later the game goes on.

You 'could' invest in a bigger Gourgeist line, but to make it successful it would need a heavy Laser line which would be expensive in comparison to your budget.

RE: Yveltal EX / Techs

If you have access to either a fire or grass type stage 2 line you can set up a stage two on your bench, then add in some Miltank to blast away for 80 damage per turn for one energy. Kangaskan is a good card to help you set up if that's your objective.

If you take Perfect_Shot's advice and beef up your Reshiram to 3 or 4 copies that can be your main attacker for cheap $$ cost. But as stated by Perfect_Shot you will need a few Blacksmith to help keep Reshiram in attack mode. If you can throw a decent Stage 2 line in you can set it up and attack with Miltank's Powerful Friends attack for super cheap while you energize your Reshiram. The Stage 2 will be pulling double duty here, helping Miltank out and being able to attack Pyroar (sounds like you anticipate having to face Pyroar).

Similar strategy with a grass option except swap Reshiram for your Yveltal-EX and Shaymin-EX. Try to set up your grass stage 2 for Miltank, attack with Miltank, Yveltal, Shaymin (who even mid-game will deal some serious damage) and hope you don't see Pyroar. If you do, try to kill him with your stage 2 or Leafeon if you keep that option.

You'll need to bump up the copies of some of your draw cards and searches to accomplish all of this, but it's more simple than it sounds and you should be able to do decently at league!

RE: Yveltal EX / Techs

Thanks for the advice, I have some emboar, two more reshiram, and I could get some milank, do you think that would be a good fire deck?

Also, do you think an Yveltal EX, Pyroar, Raichu deck would work in theory.

RE: Yveltal EX / Techs

Yes that would work, it's good that you have mostly everything you need already! If you focus on setting up Emboar early (turn 2-3) you can start swinging for 80 damage for one energy with Miltank, that will allow you to focus most of your resources on setting up Reshiram for the long haul. Having a few Blacksmith in there would be ideal for attaching discarded energy back to Reshiram for consistent blue flare attacks.

And yes Yveltal/Raichu/Pyroar would be another good combo, if you have enough cards to build both decks I would go for it and see how they suit your style. This deck would be quicker and harder-hitting overall than the Reshiram/Miltank/Emboar; it requires less setting up and fewer energy attachments to get going.

Now you can make two focused decks and switch it up and have tons of fun :)

RE: Yveltal EX / Techs

Thank you so much, I am a bit new to competitive play and I really appreciate your advice, I'm going to try to make the yveltal one first and test it out at the league challenge.
