Zekeels. Zekeels. Zekeels. Durant.

Look at the newest article on 6p. He played Zekeels himself, he played 7 rounds + 3 topcut rounds, 8 Zekeels, 1 Durant, 1 Chandy. I know this is only his experience but still, EVERYONE is playing this deck.

Yeah, this is the guy: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/user-thefleeee

I played in VA, and I played lots of mirror. This is why an anti meta deck could easily work.

Colorado States was also swarmed with Zekrom Eels and Durant. I got lucky and didn't play any Durants, but out of 11 rounds, I played against 8 Zekrom Eels. It is definitely the most played thing right now. I recommend Terrakion to everyone out there.

If the info that I got was correct, most Masters in VA was playing ZekEels.

Welcome to the metagame; test against ZekEels a lot.

Yeah, most of the Masters were playing it, and most of the Seniors Top cut was playing it too.

In swiss I played 4 Eel Decks, and one Tyram. (I am not in masters yet). I did get to see a couple of Masters matches, and most of them were Eel variants..

The fact that a straight Terrakion deck can win a States is proof that ZekEels is running completely rampant. The deck literally ran 4 Terrakion and that's all for Pokemon.

Yeah. I was the only Chandelure out of 200 or so Masters in OR. I think 13-14 of the top cut were Zekeels, with the rest being MTC. I never touched a Durant, and EelZone was the farthest deck from those two that I faced... :(

i played against a CMT, what appeared to be a structure deck, 2 durant, reshiboar, D&D (which was my old deck i let a friend borrow because he didnt have one), and either 1 zekeel or mageel (i donked his lone tynamo so im not sure)

i was playing zekeel, put suprisingly i only played 1 mirror if any

ZekEels is popular for a good reason, it's the BDIF. It has even matchups across the board, is very conistent and very fast.

ZekEels is easily the fastest and BDIF. Thats why you see so much. In less Pokemon played areas, less will appear fo it takes a lot of money to get the cards needed. The results are worth it though, if you know how to play the deck well enough. You would expect to see some Durant, a lot of ZekEel, and a bunch of MTC, probably most played decks.

I don't think it can be BDIF with Terrakion in the format.

A couple Zapdos and/or Tornadus won't be enough for you to beat straight Terrakion. Imo Celebox is the BDIF right now, it's just less played than Durant and ZekEels because people haven't realized it yet. Having split weaknesses fit naturally into your deck is a huge advantage, not to mention that you get super-solid energy acceleration with no setup. It means no auto-losses, generally good hands, great speed, and a fair amount of potential for comeback wins if piloted well.

The format is much more closed off now than it was last format because the EX cards are so dominant. This is very restricting, and that's not going to change. But if things go as I predict they will, the format will open up a little more for Celebox and a couple other decks.

I was more talking about Terrakion techs. The way to beat straight Terrakion is using Mewtwo EX. Celebox is good, but Zekeels has more versatility with its attackers. It can use Tornadus, Zapdos, Zekrom, Zekrom EX, Zebstrika, Thundurus, and Mewtwo EX. It also accelerates from the discard, which is generally better than the hand. Late game is also stronger. I personally use Zebstrika, it's so underplayed and awesome.

Celebox can use way more... Tornadus, Mewtwo-EX, Shaymin-EX, Regigigas-EX, Terrakion, Cobalion, Zekrom, Virizion, even Kyurem. Basically anything (any basic) that attacks for anything+colorless.

Celebox's early-game is far, far stronger than ZekEel's. And with a good list, late-game isn't that much worse.

Zekeels can use good attackers while still being incredibly consistent. Yes, Celebox can have an amazing early game, but Zekeels has awesome recovery, something that Celebi doesn't have. We may actually be thinking of different things. Is Celebox the same thing as MTC?

I like the term Celebox better than MTC because it's less specific. My build focuses more on Regigigas-EX than any other attacker, so calling my deck MTC doesn't make sense even though I guess that's what it is.

I honestly think the decks are dead even when it comes to recovery. Celebi can instantly recharge any attacker you drop when combined with a DCE, so it splashes back from KO's with ease. Also, if you attack early with Tornadus, another attacker has probably been at least half-charged by the time he goes down. Eels just gets the advantage of being less reliant on the hand, although it tends to be much more reliant on getting Switches, DCE's, and I suppose Catchers at very specific times.

Also, it's much easier to deny Eels Eelektrik than it is to deny Celebox Celebis. It's almost impossible to prevent me from dropping a basic. It's fairly easy to steal 2-3 prizes from Eels before it has two Eels out.

Honestly, lilligant needs some credit. I dont think anyone realizes how good it actually is. Instead of just blowing it off try testing it, the cards arent hard to find and it can take down all three of the most played decks
