I found this deck on a forum and thought about doing one for me too. I do not know much yet on the cards for Pokemon TCG since I started this week, so would like your help.

It is quite obvious but the deck is based to prevent the opponent activate any effect of any pokemon, and prevent him from activating item cards. Finally, the Hammers are to slow the opponent, removing their energies.

Why not use Groundon EX instead of Terrakion EX? It does not cause more damage?

Because Terrakion EX helps with energy acceleration. If you have a Terrakion EX on the Active, you can setup the others with Pump-up Smash.
