Pokemon - 20
2 zoroark (BW - Foul Play)
2 Zoroak (DE)
4 zorua (DE - Ascension)
4 murkrow (UD59)
4 honchcrow (UD16 - Vengeance)
2 Sneasel
2 Weavile (UD)

T/S/S - 24
4 dark patch
4 dark claw
4 prof juniper
3 ultra ball
3 pokemon catcher
2 black belt
2 twins
1 PONT
1 junk arm

Energy - 16
4 special dark
4 double colorless
8 basic dark

My goal is to build a deck that can set up quickly and take out most pokemon-ex in one hit.

Use Zorua and Dark Claw during the early turns to hit the opponent a bit harder and faster than they can hit me. Use Juniper and Ultra Ball to discard basic dark energy (for Dark Patch) and dark pokemon (to power up Vengeance [which does 10 damage, +10 for each dark Pokémon in my discard pile]), and cycle through the deck. Once I have enough pokemon in my discard pile, shift over to Honchkrow and use Vengeance to hit for large amounts of damage.

When I can get it to work, it's been good. But it takes a while to set up if things don't go well. Darkrai-EX is not a viable option for me. How can I improve this deck?

you need eeevee for umbreon.
2-2 line of Eevee Umbreon DE will do the job.

Not sure about the other cards though.

Well, your list is a little wierd, usually it goes:
Pokemon:
4 Zorua (Acension)
4 Zoroark (Foul Play)
4 Umbreon (any)
4 murkrow (UD59)
4 honchcrow (UD16 - Vengeance)
T/S/S:
4 dark patch
4 dark claw
4 prof juniper
2 expert belt
3 ultra ball
2 Interviewers Questions
3 twins
2 pokemon catcher

Energy:
4 special dark
4 double colorless
8 basic dark

And you mixed up Zorua and Zoroark....

My suggestions:
-4 Umbreon (Not needed)
-2 Expert Belt (Is this even in the format??)
-2 Interviewers Questions(Energies shouldn't be an issue, you're wasting a supporter)
-2 Zoroark BW (To make room)
-10

+2 Zoroark DE ( Hits nicely against EX's)
+2 Sneasel UD (For his Evo)
+2 Weavile UD (Great way to disrupt your opponet)
+3 Prof. Oaks New Theory
+1 Random Receiver

You can also:
-3 Twins (not needed)
+2 Catcher (Helps getting easy KO's)
+1 Junk Arm (To get Catchers Back)
Or the other way around
+2 Junk Arm (as above)
+1 Catcher (As above

Thank you for the suggestion.

The lack of Eevees was a deliberate choice; the Umbreons are there just to be discarded, to power up Vengeance. Previously, I had Scrafty in there, but Umbreons are cooler. I figured that I'd be better off having a mulligan than starting without a Zorua or Murkrow. But a Call For Family Eevee (UD48) could be useful. If there were a fast and powerful basic Dark pokemon that had a retail price of $10 or less, I'd go with that instead of the Umbreon.

Pro:
Fewer mulligans. Lets me search for basics. It's a good card to start with; I'm a lot more likely to lose because of pokemon than prizes, so I can stall and sacrifice.

Con:
Mostly useless after the second or third turn.
Doesn't increase Vengeance's power.

So I'm not sure if it's a good tradeoff or not. I shall think it over as the day goes by. Thank you both for the suggestion.

Along with Expert Belt and Black Belt.

I like the Weavile idea.

I'm not sure I understand the appeal of Random Receiver. I figure that as long as I'm down a prize (which will probably happen since these guys are glass cannons), Twins would be a much better card to have. I'm sure I'm overlooking something, though.

Thank you very much for your help!
