And yet, you can't address the balance any other way. It's not as if you can introduce a Drizzle + Genesect/Tornadus-T complex ban, as making yet another accommodation for Drizzle at that point just becomes ridiculous.
Yeah, I agree. Banning Tornadus-T or Thundurus-T in a way solves the drizzle problem, but then you run into the reasoning of "hey, couldn't we just ban drizzle instead of multiple mons?" Approaching the (possible) banning of rain is a difficult issue in the fact that you either
a) ban the pokemon at the root of the problem. This in a way keeps viable strategies like rain stall around, however at the same time keeps sun somewhat in check. The problem here is that you ban a pokemon like Tornadus-T who actually sucks outside of rain or Thundurus who, while great, is easy to check through SR, Mamoswine, faster mons, etc.
b) ban drizzle. I agree that doing this will eventually lead to sun being banned. You do, on the other hand, keep Pokemon like Tornadus-T and Thundurus-T from "uber status", so that's a plus. It's actually hard for me to imagine a game without weather though. While weather does make the game rather lame, it IS the BW metagame, just like stall is the GSC metagame and paralysis spreading is the RBY metagame.
also banning weather means taking a huge poop on the past two years lol.
tldr: i have no effing idea what to do haha
