  • There were a couple of other videos I wanted to post for the YouTube channel I shared earlier. This was one of the most back-and-forth games I’ve seen in a long time. I was on the edge of my seat at the end! (The other one was the “2 Year Anniversary! Retro Format Base Theme Deck Tournament” video, but I’ll want to add the link to a separate post later so it’s not spam.)

Also, before anyone asks, no, I’m not the YouTuber who posted this, no, I’m not paid by said YouTuber, and no, retro tabletop battles are a very different niche than modern theorycrafting, so these aren’t competing with Bewear’s videos (much). I just thought people here would appreciate these videos.
I found this YouTube channel called Holon Phantom with over 70 tabletop Pokémon TCG battles, many of them for vintage formats. I’ve been thinking about sharing it with this community for a while because I have really enjoyed the quality of the videos and the diversity of the decks used. Also, the channel is still growing. I hope you find this series as interesting as I have.
Encouraging news on pull rates from Scarlet & Violet! Special Illustration Rares have a 1 in 32 pull rate, and Ultra Rares have a 1 in 15 pull rate, catching us up to Japan in "secret rare" volume! (I.E. (very) roughly 3 "secret rares" per $120.)

The reference to confidence intervals concerning the Special Illustration Rare Koraidon's pull rates also served to improve the article's credibility, which I had questioned for previous entries in the series since the pull rates for "chase cards" of the same rarity were rarely even close to similar. It's kind of funny to imagine each "secret rare" being an "equally improbable" pull.

Also, I just realized this essentially means that Special Illustration Rares are filling the niche held by Trainer Gallery Pokémon. I wonder if that means that their prices might fall even farther.

Of course, there's always the chance that people from Japan are ordering these cards overseas as a cheaper alternative to their rarer versions of those same cards. The Starmie V and Garchomp V Trainer Gallery cards are similarly affected, if I'm understanding correctly. Or maybe Misty and Cynthia are just popular enough to elevate their first partner Pokémon to Pikachu-tier market value status.
Is deck garage dead? I posted a couple of threads just over a week ago and I have yet to receive a single response.
hi i couldn't really on the post for some reason, but yes i just want to know if I'm getting a good deal for those decks. i eventually want to able to sell them but for now i wanna collect them.
