  • DNA, I'm on now. its 9:30 your time right? lol that's too early imo...
Says the guy who is awake at 12:30am
DNA, I can remember you saying your single, for some reason. Don't shoot me please. Also, if you can, stay on. I want to see my dex entry, but I'm on my phone right now.
    DNA, Yay!
Oh, and this is a personal preference, but how can someone as funny as you, not have a girlfriend?

And no, Drago_girl is not forcing me to ask this.
DNA, No, I told you to sit. NOW SIT! Why haven't you put me in the dex yet? Not critiquing (Dear god that's an awkward word), just wondering.
And also, there is something else on my mind...
I don't even know how to describe it... kind of sharp pain, I guess? I had a really bad stomach ache on Sunday that felt the same, but twice as bad. I'm pretty sure it was from something I ate the night before, since, um, taking care of business wasn't pleasant, if it ever is that way. I'm fine now though.
Man, this dex is fabulous. When I get my own PC, I'll stay logged in all day and night.
About the people in the DNA dex. How has each one reacted to their entries?
I'm good, although my stomach did some strange things in the middle of the day.
DNA, Plagiarism doesn't even begin to cover it. You know a famous practice of theirs? They memorize whole pages of words. Literally. Something like 200 words per lesson. Yet in a real-life situation, many of them can't speak English.
...Whew, I finally finished your bio. It's just amazing. One day, I'm gonna be in it!
Aww, DNA... You have no idea how much of an impact you had in my life. Thanks for always being great!
    DNA, Thanks :).
Yeah, it's the UK one I'm talking about. Honestly, though, I think their tests are a bit overrated. I got 92% in FCE, and everyone was like "wow, how hard did you study to do that?". And I hadn't studied.
The CPE is generally more serious. Unfortunately, it's been degraded. You see, since it allows you to teach, it was normally made for older people, like university students and such. However, many kids were taking it, and because the fail ratio was very high, they decided to make it easier. Of course, you still need to know your stuff, not only concerning English but the world in general. I mean, how can a 14-year-old write about the pros and cons of using nuclear energy?
Generally though, even those who take the exam often don't really know English. My English is much better than many who have succeeded in the CPE, and that's no bragging. It's sad, but with the way things are taught in Greece, you can literally memorize an essay by heart and write it without knowing the tiniest bit about the topic or the language you're using.
DNA, There are two major exams one almost always takes when learning English in Greece. There are some others, but they're not as important. The first is the FCE, standing for First Certificate in English. The other is the CPE, standing for Certificate of Proficiency in English. The FCE is the first exam to be acknowledged if you wanna get a job which involves knowledge of English. All things lower than FCE aren't recognized as degrees. The FCE normally requires about 3-4 years of tutoring to get. The CPE is the highest certificate you can get apart from a university degree and having it means you can actually teach English. Everything between the FCE and the CPE doesn't allow you to teach. The CPE normally requires about 7-8 years of tutoring to get.
Both exams are provided by the Cambridge and Michigan universities. The Cambridge ones are thought to be more difficult. In terms of getting a job, however, they're treated equally.
I already have the Cambridge FCE and I hope to get their CPE as well. I don't wanna teach, but a CPE is much more helpful in getting a job than FCE. Plus, I wanna learn as much English as possible (that's why I take the Cambridge exams).
Maybe I wrote a bit too much...
    DNA, Really? Wow!
It's just that the last time I used a dictionary for a conversation was when I was in my 2nd year of English. I normally only use it in the hardest texts, those that are too formal or too specialized.
Keep it up, though. And correct all mistakes I make. With you around, getting the CPE in May will be piece of pie.
