don()shinobi, basically, yes. As soon as you learn that skill for the class, you may equip it whenever you choose, even if you change classes again.
You can only equip 5 skills at once, but you will always have it available.

don()shinobi, get someone to level 20 in the base class first, then go for the Master Seal. Honestly, whoever gets there first you should use it on. Second Seal you use mostly to get other skillsets for that character. But again, as a habit I only do it after the character reaches level 20 or 15 in the advanced class (since level 15 is when they get the capstone skill).

Whoever can classchange to Dark Knight, I'd use it on them first. Lifetaker is stupendous.

don()shinobi, well, I did the whole run with just the adults and no children, so it might look different, but here are my suggestions (in no particular order):

Chrom, You, Ricken, Sumia, Gregor, Severa*, Henry, Lucina*, Tharja, Olivia, Inigo*, Virion, Morgan*

The * are child characters. Those are suggestions of who (I believe) are some of the best characters in the whole game. The children get bonuses from their parents and inherit skills from them too, so they tend to be ludicrously good. Severa, Inigo, and Morgan are the best, with Nah as another contender.

Obviously if you have been using other characters habitually, then go with those too, but generally if you have any of the list I gave, it's hard to go wrong.

Usually in FE you will have a core group of units you will keep using throughout the game, while the others get neglected. This is normal. If you feel like using them later, you can level-grind. The EXPonential Growth DLC makes this fairly easy.

You probably want to keep that core group around 12 to 15 units or so. One of the paralogues lets you bring up to 30 units, and it's about as hard as some of the later DLC (I still haven't beaten it). But for the most part, keeping a core group of 12 or so will work. Marriage can boost that number fairly easily since the children's stats will be roughly on par with the parents when they're acquired.

For the conversations, if you meet the requirements for it: When you're on the world map's menu, hit Support. If you have a conversation you can take, the icon will be orange instead of the usual brown (like the barracks sometimes). hit A, and the convos you can take are auto-sorted to the top.

A lot of the options on that menu don't get unlocked until you beat Chapter 4.

don()shinobi, iron weapons require a weapon level D in that weapon to equip them. Most of your guys not named Frederick will have Es at this point.

For support talks, the 2 characters have to battle together - either be on the same space (you can do that starting chapter 3) or on adjacent spaces. Each character can only support with specific other characters, except your character, who can support with anyone. Each character can have as many supports as it wants, except only 1 S-rank support (which is marriage).
