  • So... I'm not sure why you completely vanished in the middle of a conversation, but I thing the set-building might work best through PMs (or maybe the IRC if you have time tonight). Just let me know if you want to try finishing that shuckle set or if it's just too gimmicky. I tried it once casually, but it was hard to make work (although I didn't give it much effort at the time)
Tell me when you're ready to trade, also is there such thing as a flwless modest HP fire DW Bulbasaur?
for that set, I kinda feel like making a UU-viable (or at least RU-viable) Technician set for Kricketune, now that that ability is out. It's so low in NU right now that Smogon dosn't even have a set for it

If not that, maybe something like a Contrary Serperior (or another unreleased DW mon) set for when it's finally released. I already have a good start on Serperior, but I'd like other points of view as well.

Edit: I saw a Cosmic/Stored Power Clefable in a casual OU match not to long ago and it looked like it would do extremely well in UU.
not 252 HP EVs. I said take all of the SDef EVs and the same number from Def. This still leaves some in defense to help counter some physical moves (I didn't say the exact number to help retain the semi-secrecy of the set).

Edit: I redid the calculations just to double check and I found I misread something. it's a 20%chance to survive an uninvested close combat from Infernape... it does reduce damage from all super effective moves I tried by almost 2-5% (not 25-30...) so I need to re work this a bit more. I must have received minimum damage when field testing it on PO earlier, which would explain why it seemed to work. it does increase the bulk of the substitutes though, just nowhere near as much as I thought... I'll tinker with it a bit more because I think I probably overshot the "golden number" for the HP/Def tradeoff, if there is one. The result of said tinkering revealed that the optimum damage resistance was when 36 EVs were taken from each defense stat and were given to HP. This means Politoed's Scald can only break the substitute about 30% of the time, provided sand is up (which it usually will be unless the toed runs a speed hindering nature). it's still only about 2.5% less damage for both Def and SDef, but it's still a little better than before.
Hey, I improved the EV spread on the Tyranitar for the Falcon Pawnch team. I took every last EV from SDef and the same amount from Def and put it all in HP. Tyranitar then takes about 20% less damage relative to it's max HP from physical attacks and about 25-30% less from special attacks (plus it has bulkier substitutes as well)
Equinox, Okay, thanks! So when do you you think you could trade? My White 1 FC is 3912-6839-8308 and my name is Matthew.
