I got ripped off twice on PokeGym like 4 years ago. When I get back to trading again, I'm only trading with trusted people or people with less refs.
Who's sending first? If it's him then I think it'd be fine.
I traded a lot of things for his Palkia (Shiny) CoL, Celebi*, Cleffa, and RH Juniper. I asked if they were mint, and they arrived and aren't. He shipped 2 cards in one sleeve BTW. :/
I then told him I wanted to send back, and he's like "No, you're cards weren't mint either". Mine were and he didn't even ask in the first place.

Lil Wayne, Not a penny! however, I did trade close to my whole shadowless collection for it! It was worth it in the end run!
