I just didn't like Mudkip. It constantly died on me when I tried raising it on its own. I always rushed to evolve it because of that. At least Marshtomp and Swampert only have one weakness. One very fatal weakness, but it's their only one.

For the record, the only starter I ever remotely hated was Mudkip, and it wasn't total hatred. Froakie is good, but Fennekin has a more lovable design (like Vulpix).
