Now that I think of it, XY-On will be amazing. No there is finally no more power creep. A lot of decks will be hit hard, but I am so excited to see all the new decks. I think now there can actually be a variety of decks that work well besides the standard expecting: VirGen, Yveltal, Seismitoad...

I know, this is kinda for fun. I'm just scared that this concept will be rotated next season, with no blastoise.

I agree with Pokemon getting rid of all the stuff around for a while. Mewtwo has been around for three seasons!!! BTW DarkMatter, LandoBats will be gone as well, and least the Lando part of it. I'm happy to see LazerBank gone. I think my deck idea with Huntail will be more playable with VirGen...

I think gollurk is a smart idea. Heck, if they don't have a spirit link on a mega, that's a whole turn they have to use up to mega evolve again.

The problem with xerneas is that huntail needs water energy to attack. I was thinking about excadrill, but it seemed to clunky. Another reason is that it takes the attack for the turn. Blastoise can load on energy while on the bench, not making it a target. Also? would a Jirachi EX work good...

Should I completely ditch blastoise and go for another partner with Huntail. I could go for a different route with squirtles/rare candies and swap archie for teammates.
