During one of the SM sets they did send a notice out to event holders that they should tell their volunteers the Staff cards aren't to be sold. This was the same time they started taking measures to ensure the Staff promos would be packaged better so they wouldn't arrived bent or otherwise...

People want it because collecting a master set means collecting everything in the set with a unique identifier of some kind on it. You bet I would still want a card with "David" stamped on it if it was TPCi that printed it.

rofl They didn't even try with the name on this one. Oh well, they'll still sell out right away because ChArLiZoRd. I actually just went into my local shop to preorder the ETB and they told me I'm not even the first one to do so. The news is 5 hours old and already it's selling out. Ludicrous.

Going to be making changes to this thread soon. The second post will probably be removed as most of the information on it is no longer correct and the card lists will probably be mostly migrated to their own dedicated threads. I'll keep updates as to what's going on.

It's because of Jake Paul. From what I heard he opened some Base Set booster packs and since everyone wants Charizard, but no one can afford any of the old ones with that art, the Evolutions one is the next best thing. Except now Evolutions Charizard is starting become just as expensive.

Yesss I'm gonna get the shiny bunnies. Gonna try to collect the rest of the set, too, like I did for Hidden Fates, but the bunnies are priority.

In my scenario it applies retroactively to any card that is worth 2 or more prizes, and going forward it would apply to any card that has "Special Pokémon" written on the card somewhere.
