So, my son, playing Gardevoir, could use Enhanced Hammer (to stop a +30 from a Beast Energy, meaning they'd need 5 energy to OHKO), Choice Helmet (meaning they'd need 6 energy to OHKO, assuming no CB or BE) or Sudowoodo (Roadblock) and target Naganadel to restrict their energy acceleration?

Any thoughts on the best way of countering Blacephalon/Naganadel, aside from playing a one-prize Water type? Thanks in advance.

I think that in Gardevoir/Sylveon the latter would still be a better starter. 1-1 Ninetales GX could then be used as a T2/3/4 accelerator of Rare Candy/Gardevoir, which may help overall setup. If you're already playing Vulpix then makes sense to add 1/2 Ninetales.

I'm not asking about the tournament days, i.e. what happens on Day 1, Day 2. I'm asking about the (direct to) Day 2 'invite' itself, when it is sent out by the organisers, how it is sent out, what happens after that in terms of logistics (travel/hotel if you get it paid for), etc.

Done a small amount of testing (but enough to form an opinion I think), and if the plan is to maximise the chances of a T2 Gardevoir (for consistency) then Steven's Resolve and Nest Ball seems better than PFC/Eevee/Sylveon-GX.
