Assume I flip heads after playing Level Max, so I search my deck. Also assume I have the lv. X in my hand and know that there isn't one in my deck. Can I play the lv. X in my hand to level up someone on my bench, or does it have to come from my deck? Thank you! :D

The card says, "is damaged by an opponent's attack," so that means straight damage, not damage counters. Dusknoir and Gengar sure are annoying, huh? :P

Machamp Lv. X says, "As long as Machamp is your Active Pokemon, ..." So the effect doesn't work while he's on the bench because it is referring to that specific Machamp.
