A new mini-set named Mythical Island will release in Pokemon TCG Pocket next Tuesday, December 17th. It’ll only have one booster pack, featuring Mew.
The set will feature over 80 cards, including five new Pokemon ex, five new Trainer cards, and new immersive cards. Four of the confirmed ex are Mew ex, Celebi ex, Aerodactyl ex, and Pidgeot ex.

The following cards have been officially revealed from the set. Snivy and Morelull have recycled artwork from the original TCG, but the rest are new.

I am glad to see that none of the new cards (so far) stands as particularly broken. Aerodactyl ex is a pointless Evo hate card, but it doesn't seem playable enough to be a nuisance.
Still, I do not expect this game to survive without strong and targeted nerfs. Marshadow is obviously made to counter Pikachu ex, but Pikachu ex is just a terribly designed card that shouldn't exist in its current state.

Also Vaporeon cute.

I think tauros was made to be a pikachu ex counter especially cause its splashable in any deck i can definitely see it as a one of in alot of decks it can also 1 Hit ko mew ex and starmie ex with a giovani

The problem with Tauros is that it's terrible. You will never put three energies on it with zero access to acceleration (because all acceleration is pointlessly Type-gated).

Im definitely putting 1 in my machamp ex deck. to me being able to hit for 120 on a single prizer can definitely make for a late game win when i dont want to risk giving 2 points by using my machamp ex when they would output the same damage against ex pokemon. I can also see it in a greninja weezing deck.

I'm a bit disappointed to already see them re-using certain Pokemon like Exeggcute and Aerodactyl in this set. They already have Eeveelutions too. As it's the second one in the entire game, I would rather them focus on the larger corpus of Pokemon and give us more variety. More Pokemon like Marshadow would be nice.

I think Marshadow is very well designed. It threats OHKOs to Pikachus sitting in bench w/ 1 energy. That’s a 2x1 trade + board and energy swing.

Also Vaporeon might be better than what we think right now. Water has Starmie with zero retreat cost and most water pokemon tend to survive individual hits making it so you can recycle the energies easily thanks to him. Vaporeon + Misty might be able to enable some of the higher cost on energy water pokemon.

Mythical Island doesn't seem to be so much a new "second" set as it is a fourth expansion to Genetic Apex itself. Hence the coding being Genetic Apex's with an "a" tagged on.

Are people really playing the Game in this lol? I’m just there to collect, don’t care for the mechanics.

1. Tauros is very good, you do not need Energy acceleration to power it up, there is plenty of time in the matchups it's meant for.
2. Energy acceleration is not at all "pointlessly Type-gated." If it weren't, that would severely limit the game-designers ability to print Colorless Pokémon in general, and also limit the number of Colorless Energy in all attacks which would make type-mixing even more difficult. Did you play when Weldersaur was a deck?—that's what they'd end up in a constant struggle to avoid.

I'm a little worried about what Mew ex means for the Mewtwo vs. Charizard matchup. Charizard is by far Mewtwo's most common negative matchup on limitless, and I worry that the ability to copy Crimson Storm turns the table too far in favor of what is already one of the strongest decks.
