The set will feature the return of Team Rocket’s Pokemon. As predicted, all of them will be named “Team Rocket’s ____,” but will have different Trainer icons on the cards such as Giovanni or Proton. All of them will share the “R” symbol.

I saw Giovanni’s Mewtwo ex and thought “Hold on, it has how much HP now?” Then I Google translated its ability assuming your opponent would need to take a certain number of prize cards for it to attack or something.

“This Pokemon can only be annoying when you have 4 or more "Rocket Fungus Pokemon" on your field.”

As wildly botched as that translation is, I can tell it’s the same as Team Magma’s Groudon, which, incidentally, also had a freakishly high HP for its class (In its case, single prize basics, as other Groudon usually had 80 HP and it instead had the 100 HP on par with the numerous Groudon ex).

I have to say, this looks pretty hype. Which might have negative consequences for the people trying to get their hands on it.

Also, if the entire set it either Rocket's Pokemon or Giovanni's Pokemon, it will be an extremely "closed" set with very few interactions outside of itself. Such is the downside of the Trainer's mechanic.

Can’t beat the originals when it comes to the artwork (for me at least), but boy am I looking forward to this next set. Can’t wait to see Rocket’s Mewtwo ex SIR.

Ethan’s Typhlosion finding its way into decks it has no business in: “Hold my beer and watch this!”
… yes, apparently Ethan’s Typhlosion/Gholdengo ex is a deck in Japan. Also, Lillie’s Clefairy and Steven’s Metagross still leave plenty of room for deck building creativity. But the rule usually remains the same.

This feels like Mewtwo VSTAR all over again only maybe worse? It's damage is capped at 280 was 270 for the VSTAR. It powers up by discarding energy. And ya it has really high HP for a basic but at the cost of having to have 4 Pokémon on your bench and being limited to only using Rocket Pokémon. I had pretty high expectations but I don't see this being a very good deck.

Briefcase is a must.

And I want the sleeves for my WOTC rocket set haha.

Still holding out for the other meowth illustration art that has yet to get an English translation yet for the Dex
