Just a reminder about the first assignment, peeps.:3

FIRST ASSIGNMENT KIDS~

Stock: http://i52.tinypic.com/24ljxur.jpg
Text: Lights or none at all.
Size: 400x150
Due date: November 15th
LET'S SEE WHAT YOU ALL CAN DO.

Hint: if you're having trouble with a BG for that, try your smudge tool. ;D

@Gliscor: I like where you're going, very definitely. The first thing I notice is the C4D's could use better flow, and the text isn't in the right font. [Clipping mask part is fine] Also, the effects on the right don't look as nice as the ones on the left. The color scheme is really good though. :3

I'm not to good with real life stocks but I'll give it another go later.

I'll probably upload some tags after I watch Inter Milan vs A.C Milan in a bit.

I was actually somewhat succesful!

lol Aggie the text was suppose to be "Lights" or no text at all XD

If you put a nice gradient in the back, with a slight shadow on the girl, it'd be very nice :)

I said I'd upload something and ended up making 3 different color ways. I found something very useful with color balance too. Also I think that this ends my drought of terrible banners.

Tell me what you think, and what color version you prefer =)

The first one fits the brightness feel the banner gives off. Makes the image stick out and makes the background more appealing.

I would LOVE to know what gradient is...

PS
Yes, I am a n00b.

Also, I'm keeping the banner that way, just 'cuz

*EDIT*
Ah, I see you added saturation to the first one. The third is my favorite, but that's only because I like less saturation in almost everything.

I like the first one. Just good enough saturation on the stock, although the sides and bG could be destatured at a bit more. I really do enjoy this one though. ^^

@Aggiewyn:.... Try some different fonts.

@Aggie: On most programs I'm familiar with the gradient tool is L on your keyboard (as a shortcut). The gradient tool blends your FG and BG colors in a linear/bi-linear/radial/ect. pattern. I can't really explain this one too well.

^I personally like the air having my blending on seperate layers, so if I mess up, then its easy to fix. The only time I think I would need that tool is when I'm making the pokemon, "fade away"

(BTW, I think I'm the newest member :p)

Okay, thanks to lilsparks, I now know of the gradient power!

A few examples...

I got a bit distracted on the blue one...

@Aggie: Very nice improvement with the 3rd. What you could have tried was brushing with white around the focal and then coloring it.

I like this one because I completely recolored it starting from a black and white copy of it =)

Wow, lilsparks, that looks really cool! The colors seems to fit very well, although they may just be the same color. Anyway, good job.

@Sweet Dawn Berlitz: I would explain it but I can't find the words to say what I did. It was by no mean anything complicated but tough to explain.

Made this as a header for a website I occasionally go to:

BTW does anyone have any good Christmas Pokemon stocks/renders?
