I actually think that's very good. ^^ The overall concept and idea, is very good.

Two things though: I'd move Lightening over the right side, and switch it around. And the green doesn't compliment her very nicely.

But other than that, I /really/ like what you've got. ^^ Keep up the good work!
 
I was going to choose one of those colors, but I just chose green, but thanks for the advice. :)

[ Advice to everybody concerning colors ]

You want your colors to somewhat match your stock or outcome, but you don't want them to be so different they just look like... too contrasted.

COLOR WHEEL

Although Pink and Green, for example, are on the opposite sides of the color wheel, it doesn't always work out nice. In fact, as beginners and novices, I'd highly recommend avoiding opposite color combinations. They take somewhat skill to pull off nicely. I even have many problems with combining colors opposite each other, seeing as I'm still somewhat a novice myself. xD;

I personally can't pull off warm colors easily either. ;_; [Reds, Yellows, Oranges]

so yea, random advice on colors. :3
 
I usually pick 3 colors that I'd like to focus on that'll complement and contrast my design, usually before I start making it.

Like in my signature I already knew I'd be using Red, Blue, Purple. In my avatar I had decided on Red, Yellow, White.

@lipspark: It's a great tag! I think that there's a bit too much contrast, but that's just me.
 
I have redid my assignment but I did a black background with pink and purple lightning-

I think I forgot to re-show a layer that was correcting some of the quality/smudge. And I didn't save the psd...

I tried smudging again...but i think it wasn't as good ad the previous one..dont know why..=P

How did you guys remove the black background around her hair? I can't do it so I left it there...xD
 
Nice work FatalAero on Lighting, looks cool.

And I will be making a new banner when I have access to my program.

And Roa, can you edit my form, because I actually use Gimp 2.6.

Now that I saw the second assignment, I will try to get to it as soon as possible, but right now I can't access my program, and I don't think I will be able to for about a week.

Oh...But when I copied it into PS it changes the BG to black...-____-'
