There is a very good chance that redistributable event items like secret key can be transfered from the Japanese Pt to the US Pt.
For example in the past, the Japanese Matchup Checker poketch can be transfer from Japanese D/P to US D/P.
What this means even if the WiFi event for US Pt are not available for some reason, you might be able to down legit event items from someone who imported JPN Pt.
The one side effect to this type of cross region redistribution, is that ID from JPN event might overlap with an US event ID. For example, the TRU Dragonite had the same event ID as the JPN Matchup Checker Poketch distribution event. Since I had redistributed the Poketch to the US D/P game carts, those game carts were not able to download the TRU dragonite due to ID conflict.
