(1) 'Black' and 'White' Prerelease Leaks! [9/16]

@ EeveeLv99

Pretty good? The Fire/Ghost has a base Special of 145!!! And Decent Defenses and Speed. THAT THING IS AMAZING!!!

I love the ghostly chandelier, but I really don't like how it has more special attack than Alakazam, who is supposed to be the "ultimate" special attacker outside of the legendaries....I'm still going to use it though since it's one of the few Pokemon this generation that I like at all.

I want the bug/fire Pokemon as well - Urugamosu. I really like its design, typing, and stat distribution, which is a rare feat. A slightly better ability would have been appreciated, though.

Yeah, I know. That Special is what made me

mai pants.

Ok, as far as the old characters not appearing thing, this was probably a misinterpretation of what they meant on Pokemon Sunday. All that says is "old characters (like Professor Oak who they specificially mention) will not be appearing." That could be interpreted any number of ways. Since the 3 characters appearing are all from the 4th gen, it can be assumed that when they said no old characters (whatever they even SAID exactly) they meant nothing before the 4th gen.

As far as some of the new Pokemon "HAVING" to be evolutions of old Pokemon, just because Gen 4 did it, this is the exact reason why they are not related despite looking similar (which I don't personally see, especially with Mamanbou)

Sugimori: We were developing it at the same time as Pocket Monsters Platinum and Pocket Monsters Heart Gold and Soul Silver. In this game, since old Pokemon do not appear, and a new world is the stage, we needed to create an ecosystem purely for the newly-designed Pokemon. Up until now, we designed with the philosophy that, “a mouse-like Pokemon already exists, so let’s make other Pokemon”—but this time they were all new. So, once again we designed a mouse-like Pokemon, a dog-like Pokemon, etc. from scratch.

And Pokemontage, where do you get these ridiculous ideas about certain monsters fufilling certain roles that are, in your eyes, "set in stone". Where does it state that Alakazam is the "ultimate special attacker"? It dosen't, that's just your opinion. Porygon Z already rivals him with the exact same 135 stat. There is NO reason why any Pokemon can't surpass them.

Also your notion that there shouldn't be a pure flying type is utterly preposterous. Just because they haven't done it before, means they should NEVER do it? Stop being so narrow minded -.- (I already ranted about this many pages back so I'm not gonna get into it again)

Seriously. It's like they decided to go NUTS on some of these new Pokemon!

Both good and bad...

*Sigh

I too am now eagerly awaiting the final product Sugimori Artwork for these guys... I think I am NOW past the shock stage for these guys and am almost officially ready to accept these as Pokemon...

The more I look at some of these... The more I like them... A curse of the style I guess...

I'm still hoping for about 14 others which have not yet been revealed because they evolve from previous gen pokemon not in the beginning of these games... Probably false hope, but hope none-the-less.

That sucks, they got rid of Earthquake, Explosion, and Selfdestruct. Does that mean when you use the PokeShifter after you beat the game that you can't migrate Pokemon with those moves?

There were TM's that aren't available in the game and I was wondering If you could still use TM's from migrated Pokemon that aren't in the Black & White games such as the one's I mentioned above.

@ Card Singer J

Selfdestruct hasn't been a TM since RBY.

Pal Park only wouldn't upload Pokemon with HM Moves... I'm guessing the (horrific) pokeshifter (I'm still not EVER letting THAT go) works the same way since it is the EXACT SAME IDEA.

The only reason every single other flying type had to have some sort of body. This one is a 'god', a myth. It's one with no body.
Pidgey has a body, for example. it wasn't just air. there was more to it. That's why they're doing a pure flying type with Torunerosu.

WHAT? They got rid of Earthquake?! WTF! Ok. Now, I have something to officially complain about (besides the starter evos, female main char design, and HMs still being in the game) Getting rid of EQ is unforgivable -_-

Yeah but you can use it in the 4th Gen games unless it's only available through Action Replay.

Btw did they seriously get rid of Earthquake due to the new Triple Battles feature?

Where does it say they took out earthquake? where's the full list of TMs? There's numbers missing on Page 1 on Pokebeach 26 (earthquake) is not listed as being replaced here. Where was this confirmed?

@ Card Slinger J

Selfdestruct is a Move Tutor in XD. Only 3 Pokemon can know Selfdestruct by that do NOT learn it Naturally AND cannot learn Explosion: Munchlax (Pokewalker), Snorlax (XD or Evolve Pokewalker Munchlax), and Mewtwo (XD).

I thought the list of TM's was on the main page of PokeBeach, the list skipped past some TM's and one of those TM's skipped was TM26 which is Earthquake so I assumed they got rid of it because they skipped several TM's in Black & White according to the list spoiled.

They even skipped Toxic which is amazing on Vaporeon especially If you catch it in the Dream World with that other ability besides Water Absorb I think it's Hydration but I'm not sure. I'm glad they kept in Surf and Waterfall though.

Because that's just what Alakazam is. It's very fast, very powerful, incredibly weak defensively, and is the epitome of a Psychic type (all brain, no brawn, bending spoons). It is supposed to be the ultimate special attacker. Nothing was supposed to ever come close to it's special attacking capabilities. You can deny it, but that's just the way it was meant to be. They had to nerf the Psychic-type in the second generation (a bit of an over-nerf if you ask me) just to keep Alakazam in check.
No matter how much I like the Ghost/Fire Pokemon, I really don't think a non-legendary chandelier should be overtaking Alakazam's special attacking prowess.

I'm sorry, but you'd have to be blind not to see it. I really don't care about their reasoning. Having a pink, heart-shaped (no, it's not a "vague" heart shape, it's an obvious heart shape) pure water-typed fish that is totally unrelated to the hideously useless pink, heart-shaped, pure water-type fish of a past generation is preposterous.

Also your notion that there shouldn't be a pure flying type is utterly preposterous. Just because they haven't done it before, means they should NEVER do it? Stop being so narrow minded -.- (I already ranted about this many pages back so I'm not gonna get into it again)

Why should there be a pure-flying type? First of all, it doesn't fit the Genie trio since the other two are dual-typed. Second of all, you tell me why every flying type up until this point has been forced to be a dual type. Every "regular" bird has been forced to have the normal typing slapped on, and flying has NEVER been the main typing of any Pokemon. It's always been relegated to the secondary typing. This obviously implies that they never meant for any Pokemon to have a pure flying typing barring the Godly Arceus who can become any pure typing with a plate.

I HIGHLY doubt that is the full TM list... Gamefreak wouldn't leave holes like that in the game.

Hold on... (Looks at Mamanbou)

@ Drake: He/she probably will be. XD

OH! And if they DID get rid of Earthquake as a TM... I doubt it HIGHLY... There's always Egg Moves...

@PokéMontage It actually does make sense.
The first one is the embodiment of wind. they're not Genies or anything like that. They just look that way. The second one is the embodiment of lightning, which is associated with the sky, therefore flying type. The third one is a little harder to understand unless you've had a serious storm right above you. The boom of thunder tends to shake the ground. and my theory of why they're separated by Reshiram and Zekrom is that when you get lightning, if the storm is far a way, the ground shaking boom comes quite a while after you see the flash.

The entire game is supposed to be about the sky. The sky trio is based off Raijin, not Alladin.

@Setosama: Yeah. Im confident that Earthquake are either egg moves or move tutors moves. Why couldn't it be TM!?!?! now TMs are unbreakable, it is more easier and convenient for us. Also the Elite Four looks easy. Haha!

@EeveeLv99

or it could just be the whole "Why does Mewtwo come before Mew on the Pokedex?"

They just did it because they could? it doesn't have to make sense...? OH screw it all. I'm going back to giving the Johto Region the love it rightfully deserves which it is not getting... :(

@Drake

Especially with some of THESE beasts at our disposal in Black and White!!! Bwahahaha!
