(1) BW5 'Dragon Blade / Dragon Blast' Booster Pack and Theme Deck Images! [12/20]

The new packs look pretty cool. Doubt I will be able to get these when they come out though XD.:)

I guess this would mean we won't get all of the Dragon Pokemon in one go (ie Dragon Selection) since there is an acutal dragon set in March unless of course they plan on giving us multiple versions. Remember I said that there are a total of 38 Dragon Pokemon if one counts Arceus and Giratina twice for each of its formes. Of course the catch twenty two to this is that we need at least a third to half of that number in order to have enough Pokemon to make a dragon deck (which I imagine there are others besides myself who are looking forward to doing that).

It's actually 31, if you count Giratina exactly twice and Arceus exactly once.

This is coming from someone who spells about 10 words wrong every post. =3

I'm a tad confused as to why non-EX Pokémon are on the cover of the packs again...well, Rayquaza and Giratina are on them, yes, but Rayquaza is already in Dragon Selection. Looking at that set's pack image, it's clear that Rayquaza will be one of the EXs in Dragon Selection, so why feature it in the new packs? I dunno what I'm trying to say, honestly...I guess I just find it odd that the same Pokémon would be featured on two packs released relatively close to each other.

right... I knew there were 29 different species but I thought Bulbapedia was already counting Giratina's Origin Forme as a different one...

I guess this means that there will be an English Dragon set (maybe Dragon Blade/Blast with Dragon Selection and some Dark Rush cards?)

Dark Rush has such a weak set theme it could easily be mixed in with the Dragon sets, or maybe technically, the Dragon sets mixed into it, depending on the set order and how the distribution goes. We're still a ways off from these sets, though.

Don't take sum numbers on Bulbapedia for granted ;)

Well there will be a hydragon and a garchomp EX . I do belive. There were lv x. So yea ill prove you wrong . LOL

There's no way to tell at this point, and you have absolutely no evidence to back up your theory, so for now, hush up ;)

xD @ DNA.... I dont think it will be EX... So far its been Basic's only... and Legendaries... Could be... new holo's? Idk

@Blastburn: I don't hold strong opinions either way. It's victiniEX who does, not me.

You proved us all wrong? Yeah, no, you didn't. Just because there were non-legendary L.V. X, Prime, and old ex, doesn't meen that will continue. EXs started late in the TCG, so I'm not convinced all legendaries will be one.
Also, if your right, why wasn't Zoroark and EX in Dark Rush? It was the only Pokemon on the pack art, but Hydreigon and Grachomp are with two Pokemon that likely will be EXs: Giratina and Rayquaza. Hydreigon and Garchomp will just be holos. The ones in the decks are possibly reprints. The ones in the decks are 100% not EXs. The artwork doesn't leave the borders, and (so far and likely to continue) Shirzow has illustrated all EXs.

Kids, kids, kids...there are many significant better ways to take up forum space.

To Zekrom Black:
That Shizurow drawed the Pokémon-EX artwork to this point doesn't exclude the possibility of more artists doing them in the near future. Furthermore, victiniEX stated he will prove you wrong. And even if it seems totally absurd, you still can't tell that it is wrong, since we have no more information. I'd like to remind of speculation before the release of BW3, very few people expected EX-SR cards.

To victiniEX:
Only because you strongly believe in it, it won't come true. There is, as DNA stated earlier nothing to back up your hypothesis, except we can't label it completely false without more information about the upcoming expansion. If you take a look on BW3 and BW4, it seems highly unlikely that we'll see other Pokémon except legendaries on EX-cards. There might be a new sub-mechanism, like Pokémon Prime or *, though.

Loving the Hydreigon and Garchomp artworks already. kawayoo did good work as usual. I also wonder if owner's Pokémon will return in this set. Only thing that bugs me is the simple question of "Why Rayquaza and Garchomp again?".They're great Pokémon, even two of my favorites, but why again?

Renoir over.

I do have a question for all of you, though.

As far as I know, the PCL never specifically stated that only legendaries can be EXs.

So why is it just assumed that every EX is and will be a legendary? Just because every EX in three sets (Psycho Drive, Hail Blizzard, Dark Rush) are legendaries doesn't mean that every EX in the future has to be a legendary. There weren't any legendary Lv.X Pokemon until we got Great Encounters, after all, and guess what? There were legendary Lv.Xs since then. But there weren't any in the first three DP sets.

It is assumed because a stage 1/2 EX would have stupidly high HP,like 250-300, I guess. Also, it seems exclusive to Legendaries for now. Only time can really tell wether or not some non-basics will be EXes.

Not necessarily, it woul need to have more HP than its regular counterpart, probably around 180 HP may do unless you are using Wailord EX, then 250 HP is probably a good amount for it.
