(1) 'Dragons Exalted' Scans! [7/26]

Rayquaza is already up to $50 on T&T. I was hoping to watch the site like a hawk after WPM put up the scans so I could get a reasonable pre-order price but of course they added all of the DRX cards up for pre-orders while I was asleep. -_-

I was up 'til 4 AM watching the site. I think they added them an hour or two after I went to bed. I know that no one can really blame T&T for dumb prices on Rayquaza, but I can't help but think that they shouldn't be over $35 yet. Unless of course they were already less then $30 and just continued stepping up.

I still don't see why Rayquaza will be so big. Making it a Secret Rare in this set just confirms it's coming out in the November set unless TCPi is completely trolling us. I'm buying 1 if at all, and they shouldn't be $40. I say $35 is the max. It can donk. Period.

For reference, they called hydreigon's ability 'trance' instead of trans because of dark dragonite from Rocket.
No they didn't. They called it Dark Trance because that is the actual name of the Ability.
Look here.
ダークトランス would be translated as "Dark Trance"; since Japanese is phonetic, the ス would translate to a soft S sound in English. "Dark Trans" would be a hard S, and thus it would be written like this: ダークトランズ (the difference is that there is a dakuten, " right above the last character now).

And that's your Japanese lesson for the day.

That's why it's confusing.

You also forgot the Supreme Victors and the Mysterious Treasures versions. This whole thing is weird, it's not like Magmortar was doing anything wrong. Dx

The thing about the original Magmortar card is that not only was it pointing its hand at the viewer, but his hand was also smoking as if he'd just fired a shot. Plus, there were just those shootings in Colorado last week and maybe TPCi thought it was too soon.

T&T always start their pre-order prices low; they'll list a new shiny card at like $10 to start and having like 10-20 of them available at that price. When they sell out at the starting price, the price increases until the card stops moving units. So it's people pre-ordering them like crazy from T&T that drives cards up to ridiculous prices like $50 overnight.

You're making me flash back to my econ class. I can already see lines moving on graphs...Darnit! I thought I was home-free for the weekend.

Anyway...yes, this is truth. They start low, then a ton of people order it, shooting the price a lot higher, since T&T doesn't have enough to meet demand.

I highly doubt the CO shootings is the case.

T&T's preorder prices are really good until a lot of people see them. It gets even worse when people buy them and don't realize they're too high. T&T is smart to put them up before prereleases....

Yeah, and Magmortar just having fired a shot is worse than about to shoot you. Like Mudkip said, I doubt it has anything to do with the colorado shootings, especially when the cards are eventually going to be old and it will just confused collectors of Japanese and English cards.

It's not that, it's that PCL has probably been printing Dragons Exalted for the last month or two. If it had anything to do with the shootings they'd have to repackage everything that has the old Magmortar in it and replace it with the new one.

Colorado aside I still think the smoke is the reason it was changed. Every other Magmortar card either has Magmortar just sitting there with his hand up with it not doing anything special, or there's actually fire shown in his hand. So I personally think that the smoke itself was too suggestive/similar to a regular hand gun.

Little fact check for ya'll-
Rayquaza Shiny started at $40 on Troll and Toad. QUICKLY went up to $50. They just under an hour ago put 4 up at $65. Gone instantly.

Look how high Rayquaza has risen! >_<

How hard is it to pull a Shiny out of 16 packs?

Not too likely. If you do the math you get one Rayquaza out of 12 or so boxes. (1 shiny in every 3 boxes and there's 4 shinies)

What I don't get is how T&T expects to get all of these Rayquazas...

I thought the ratio was 1 shiny every 2 boxes, or did something change?

either way rayquaza has already reached mewtwo/darkrai like prices and the pull rate is VERY low :( I'm doomed...
