I kind of like that idea, in a more competitive way. Unfortunately, I'm a collector, so that would make my life much harder. Plus TPCI isn't just going to give us good tourney-ready cards, unless the price was really high.
Ahem, singles market. How many box sets did they release this year? That is quite a lot. We are getting box sets left and right, and I really think that instead of releasing tons of box sets, they should have released epic collection precons instead. I'm not say they should abandon box sets, but there are some box sets that are completely dumb. Excellent emboar box set and its friends for example.
Just think of these as equivalents to Magic's event decks. Also, how much do these box sets cost? Around $20? Therefore, these precons that are a step up from theme decks are also $20.

that would be great! having hydreigon and garchomp theme deck with 4 blend and sigilyph/altaria.
As I said, these decks won't be restricted to one set. It uses any card from any set as long as it is modified legal. These decks I would say are to be released in pairs, that is, you get 2 choices, twice a year. The cards within uses the expansion symbols that the cards were originally from, as such, they don't have their own expansion symbols compared to the trainer kits, which do have their own expansion symbols.
Basically, Magic has intro packs and event decks
Yugioh has Starter decks and Structure decks.
Pokemon has Theme decks and no other precon product that is tournament legal.
Box sets that are dull and boring should be replaced by epic collection precons.
