(1) New English X/Y Commercial [9/17]

wow.... is it just me or does it seem like they are trying to market towards older folks (like teens) now. That would probably be a good move, since they've basically secured their children market.

EDIT: Wait, first person to post on a WPM current event? my life goal.... *complete* :D :D :D

I think the targeted audience is better now. Sure, there will be new kids that are ten-ish that will play, but Game Freak can't just forget their classic audience. Finally, recognition. Sort of.

Now if only they'll leak the rest of the Pokedex...

Could not agree more! Reminds me of the Red/Blue commercials which is why I love this one so much!! Gives me that cheesy 90's feel and I can't get enough of it!

Something about real world scene meets animation bothers me. I'm happy for the older actors though, that's pretty tight!

I loved this commercial! I finally feel like Nintendo isn't only focusing on a young audience for Pokemon and giving their older fans the attention they deserve.

Damn, I was hoping that signpost about 10 seconds in would have new names, but it's just the four we know so far.

Well done Nintendo, you raised my hopes and dashed them quite excellently.

It's freakin' beautiful.

I was instantly surprised by the older actors and pleased by the way they presented things. :D

I really like the animation of the Pokémon in here; it would be really nice for a Wii game. I don't think it's fit for movies or the actual anime to use this style, however. Or maybe it would just require some getting used to!

I really love that they are making it more appealing for older players.

That animation... no... just... no.

Stick to the cel-shading guys... photorealism and live-action is not for you.

But It's cool they have older people in the ad, TV is bound to reach a wider adult audience who might be interested but don't stay on top of news.

Dang, guess the 3D only being present in battles wasn't a demo-only thing.

What!? I spent money on a 3DS just for this game... I will still need either that one or the new 2DS to play it so its not a waste of money to me. But seriously, why cant they make the whole game 3D? Ugh! Frustration!

I remember having to do that scene...hurt my hooves a bit jumping on those rocks. But you have to admit, that trailer made me look beyond majestic :p

Heck yeah quick question though how do you type with hooves? (real question based just on this trailer which pokemon in it do you think looks the coolest?)

THAT
WAS
AMAZING

They're finally appealing to the older audience, and the trailer just makes me super excited that X and Y is just around the corner.....dat amazing.....pokemon....somebody hold me.

Well really they don't have advertise to older fans because you are buying the game anyway, the reason for the younger audience was mostly because youngins' who didn't have the last decade or two to enjoy the series need to recognize. If we are talking about people that quit early on and are coming back, then this commercial isn't going to convince them to get back in.

it still work and is awesome, but just saying.

Disappointing that the game won't incorporate 3D as well as the last Fire Emblem game. That had 3D cutscenes for battles but also some really nice effects on the battlefield maps and overworld.
