(1) New Pokemon Revealed: Zorua, Zoroark [2/10]

I'm loving both of the designs, with Zorua actually being my favorite of the two. I'm excited to get see these guys in action, hopefully trailers will begin to surface soon to tide me over. In regards to those odd coloration differences, I wonder if one is a mistake? If so, I hope it'll be corrected soon, or explanation will be provided as to why both are correct. For the record though, I happen to be more fond of the green eyes in Sugimori's artwork.

^ Also, looking forward to it Xous!

Perhaps it is a male/female difference?

Zoroark... sucks. I hate the red part in its mouth (I thought it was lipstick when I saw it xD) and I imagined it looker tougher than that. On four legs... lol. Zoroa is a lot better. I don't know. I feel like the Darker color would have been better for Zoroark. Plus, Zoroa has a little smirk, which I like ^_^

As I said earlier, there's nothing in its mouth, silly goose. It is red markings similar to the make up on kibuki actors and kitsune masks. That's probably also where the massive red hair and the pony tail came from; red hair is from some of the actors, and pony tails where common in that time period, weren't they?

Doesn't make it prettier, mind, but I wish people would stop thinking it's something in its mouth/lipstick. ><;

I was thinking about that, it's a possibility for sure. Considering Sugimori's art typically depicts the default, male version of a Pokemon, one can assume if gender difference is the reason, the Zorua and Zoroark featured in the movie would probably be the females.

The colors in the anime art always differ from the Sugimori art. It doesn't mean anything. Many Pokemon have different eye color and slightly changed base colors in the anime.

You know what Generation 5 needs? Either a protagonist change or a trainer customization feature. I'm starting to tire of the "Generic Boy/Girl of town becomes Trainer" thing, I'd like to play as the region's new professor or an organization with good intent going against an evil organization. Either that or I'd love to see a Pokemon Battle Revolution style character creator for one of the main games, although I think it might be hard to put into the game (If not they should at least let us able to select from ALL of the trainer sprites as a representation for online battles or maybe even the main game, not just a select few depending on your trainer ID like in some of the other games)

Either that or an "Ancient Newly Discovered Island" setting where Prehistoric Pokemon thrive

Travis: There's a good chance that the new games will stray a bit from the usual "formula".
To quote Masuda:
"...The Pocket Monsters (game) we're producing right now is so entirely new, you might even think 'Is this really Pocket Monsters?', so please look forward to it."

Anyways, I like Zorua and Zoroark. Especially Zoroark. It's found its way onto my desktop now, actually. :3

Wow, fifth generation already...

These are decent designs. I like them, the colours on them are nice for a dark type as such and the designs are quite simple, not too complicated like the fourth generation. So far, so good.

First of all. We should know that Zoroark is not a legendary pokemon. Second, if you compare Lucario and the Mystery of Mew to Phantom Champion Zoroark, they are similar. First, they both have a legendary pokemon that is Psychic, second, they have a new pokemon with an extrodanary power, Third, they have a trio. In this case it's Entei, Raikou and Suicune. So should know what to expect from Zoroark and the movie.

When was Zoroark confirmed a non-legendary? The new games are suppose to change significantly so for all we know Legendaries might get pre evolutions, but yes, I think this is going to be the Lucario of the generation; not legendary but one of those special Pokemon. Zoroark is also a Dark type, not Psychic.

Also, I always thought Ho-oh was the commander of the three dogs? Why does everyone keep saying Zoroark is, and if he is then why isn't he a legendary???

This is the first time a new generation has come out since I've been a Pokemon fan. I'm estatic! Those are kinda creepy looking though. I wonder how many Pokemon are going to be made in the new generation?:p

People said the same thing about Gen IV.

By the way, Pokemon are found in nature, so it's not anyone's fault they turned out the way they are. It's just nature's choice! :p
