(1) Nintendo 3DS Details Announced at E3 [6/15]

But besides the announcement of the 3DS, Nintendo kind of fell apart. I would say they beat Microsoft, but Sony went beyond any of the competitions. It had the best motion aspect at the conference. (Kinect, while interesting, seems only for family and excerise games). They also announced a multitude of system exclusives which will no doubt be the most coveted games this year.
Because Legend of Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong country, Goldeneye, epic mickey, Metroid, etc. are all not-at-all noteworthy, right?
Sony's lineup wasn't bad, but to say Nintendo had nothing ._.

And PS move will probably fail. The price will make early adoption rates pretty low, which will in turn make the games made (specifically) for the move low, which will make adoption rates in general low. The Wii remote had the advantage of it being bundled with the Wii and therefore having all games compatible (and made specifically for) it. If it came as a Gamecube peripheral, we would all have forgotten about it by now.
That, and honestly, it's just basic copycatting, I doubt the same people who criticised the Wii will now suddenly all go and waste 80 dollars per person on something so very similar. Wasn't PS dismissing the idea in general when the Wii was announced anyway? To me this just seems like a late attempt to steal some of the Wii's success and definitely not something which would make the Sony conference the best one. Seriously, if they'd actually have been innovative I might've agreed, but that sadly wasn't the case IMO.

As terrible as Nintendo's previous 2 conferences were, they truly took the cake with this one IMO.

Nintendo has packed 3DS with so many features that it's not even promoting some of the major ones. Today's Nikkei detailed one such silent feature: software install.

According to the paper, gamers will be able copy 3DS software to internal memory. Multiple games can be stored with the system in this fashion. You'll be able to switch between games by selecting a title from the system's main menu.

The paper notes that due to this feature, there'll be no need to swap cartridges. When outside of the home, you won't need to carry game cartridges with you.

Nikkei is a financial paper, so it obviously didn't get into the specifics on how this installation system will work. We'll have to wait for Nintendo to provide clarification.

well now that is interesting. i would assume 3ds has at least 16GB flash memory inside to save those on since launch 3ds carts are 2GB in size.

My biggest question is will it be region locked?

I've grown accustomed to importing games, and I would really hate not being able to play them on an American 3DS.

the ds/dsi and 3ds games will probably be region free, but online downloadable games will be region locked similar to dsi.

the price will be around 170-180 if they launch it next spring.
if they launch it this fall it will be 180-200.

btw dsi and dsi xl launched at higher price points even though they costed cheaper to make than a ds lite. expect price drops on those this fall. i would guess. 130$ for dsi 150$ for dsi xl. as ds lite is already discontinued for awhile now.

epect 3ds games to cost at least 40$ a piece square enix will probably push the 45$ mark on theirs its called the 5$ square enix tax :p

i never said they didn't have nothing else to show, it just wasn''t as good as the stuff Sony showed. Nintendo did their regular thing, remaking games, or adding sequals to titles known to Nintendo. Goldeneye was nice to see, but zelda was expected, DK was disappointing (side scrolling? really?) and kirby was decent. I could warm up to that one later. Where is Smash Bros 4? (Yeah this won't happen until the new console, but I can dream can't I?)

Sony had games that were wanted ever since the first games in their seires were ever released to the public. Infamous 2, The Last Guardian, Medal of Honor, Twisted Metal etc. (that last one is a gift from God.) Not to mention Birth by Sleep for the PSP. Just better games in my opinion.

The move is not only available by itself, you can get it in a bundle with the playstation eye and a game, or even a ps3 and a playstation eye and a game. Besides the move has 1:1 (so does the wii, supossedly) but it looked way more accurate than the wiimote. (I dont undestand how though since they each are 1:1, but sure enough it was). I could fail as a project but with the showing at e3, I am confident that there will be enough people buying it to call it an success. But yes the wiimote had a good marketing strategy.

I think the sony conference was better, you think the Nintendo conference was better. To each their own. How about we just agree that these two beat Microsoft? Kinect, their main showing besides Halo:Reach, while interesting, just didn't appeal to me at all. They only had family and excersize games for it; and I think that is all they will be able to do with it too. No way a shooter can be used with this or a RPG.

you don't want to be sucked into the pokemon world ? haha how cool would that be.

But what if, when you were eaten and were falling into the Pokemon world, you landed in a Gyrados' mouth and it went underwater?

WAIT!
So does that meen you can download your friend's games!?

Some people on another forum I visit was talking about this. They suggested that Nintendo would keep this from happening by adding something in the 3DS that worked a lot like the Pokewalker works when you send out Pokemon.

The game knows when you have already "sent out" your downloaded copy to your 3DS and wouldn't allow you to do it again until you "return" it. Or something like that...

You still have to buy one of them Nunchuck navigation thingies. That'd $140 (100 for the bundle, 40 for the navigation controller) to play one game made specifically for it (if I'm not mistaken, pretty much everything else will still work with the regular controller). I'm sure they'll sell some moves, but I'm not expecting anything drastic, or even noteworthy. So to me, the Sony conference was basically "hey, look how we're doing what Nintendo was doing like 5 years ago". Their presentation wasn't horrible (nothing like MS's), they had some nice things, but it certainly wasn't the best IMO.

2GB is the max capacity for a 3DS card.
The DS's max capacity was around 512mb.

Did this mean that all games were 512mb? No.
Most games were 32-64mb with the "best" games at 128mb.
IIRC there was only one game with a 512mb size.

tl;dr don't make false ridiculous assumptions that would fill people with hope.

Your opinion is trolling.
In my opinion, Sony's conference was the worst out of the 3.

http://e3.nintendo.com/interviews/#/?v=interview_stradling

This interview really seems to be suggesting that the 3DS will also allow things such as achievement systems and friends lists.

Seriously, the more I hear about this the more I want it.

Sorry but to me Sony didn't beat Nintendo. Sony was way better than Microsoft but for the most part bored me. Kevin Butler was awesome, and so was twisted metal and a few others. The thing we saw everything we expected to. Nothing really jumped out at us expect for POrtal2 and Twisted Metal. Everything else was too predictable and the motion things that Sony and Microsoft showed were just tweaked version of the wii. Also some of the games that Sony talked about at the conference weren't even shown. Nintendo was a little predictable but then threw us a curve ball towards the middle and finished really strong. Sorry but Nintendo won E3 for me, without them this year's E3 would have been just okay.

Also check this hilarious video response I found on Youtube. I don't agree with everything he said about Sony and Microsoft but it was pretty funny.

Edit: Wow I forgot to put in the link sorry. Here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMoS7kL4sLc&playnext_from=TL&videos=JDvj6w1GHbM

Are you stupid? Do you not know how to read?
According to the E3 convention floor plan, Nintendo will have something related to Pokemon Black on display at their booth. Whether this is a game demo, videos, or simply posters remains to be seen. The video game convention starts on Monday, so we'll find out then!

Learn to read. Seriously.

Sheesh. Isn't this just a bit insulting and condescending?

the nintendo 3DS is just amazing this is exactly why i like Nintendo so much because they make games that are innovative and fun at the time , they do games with some meaning behind them they do not just use an old formula which i believe other companies use that is just graphics and violence.
This system looks like it is something that will make a a revolution this will be fun and really helpful

To me NOTHING at E3 appealed to me except for Nintendo.
E3 is meant to be a place for big announcements...
And what does the other give us?Some stupid Playstation Plus and XBOX Slim crap...
Nintendo revealed a whole new console and 10 games for it with information never known before...
But i also enjoyed the EA presentation of Sims 3 Console, that was the best presentation but not reveal, it kept me interested ;)

Wow, the 3DS was amazing :D
I've long said that the future would be in 3D, but that even their first attempt is this good, I would not have thought.
It's hard to convey the experience to words or a screenshot/video, but just wait until you see it with your own eyes.
Nintendogs 3DS is just the cutest thing ever! (sorry fans of cute Pokémon!)

@NeoSpyder
What did you think of the 3DS?
