I believe that this story is true. After all, isn't it about time we heard about the next hand-held console? The DS was made in 2004, and we've only had some rather minor changes to it thus far...
I believe the 5th generation is not too far off. Based on patterns in the past, the 5th generation is due for Fall of 2011 in Japan. With the new console coming out in 2010, this sounds fairly in line. However, 2010 seems rather early, seeing as we haven't even seen a hint of a single Generation V Poke yet. (However, I would bet a 20 that we'll see one in Movie 13.)
