Judging from the body shape and angle and if that thing above the tail is an arm, it looks like it's looking back toward the others and that pointy part is the back of the head and not some sort of snout. The left one IS facing to the left, as there's a notch on the left side of its neck - this would either mean it's arms are weirdly twisted, or it's facing to the left. My guess is it's a beak, and as much as I want it to be grass - I'm going for water for that one :).
 
I think the one on the right is a beaver/otter thing.
The one on the left seems like a emo pokemon. I always pictured it as looking towards the right.
And finally the bunny/pig thing looks like a fire type to me.
 
I can't believe some people think the one on the left has a flame tail....

We've already got the Charmander line, and then they gave us Monferno, I doubt they'd be that unoriginal and give us another flame tail Poke (especially a starter). Also it's too straight and pointy to be a flame. Definitely looks like a big leaf to me. CoroCoro will be leaked soon so we'll find out soon enough.

OMG, That's the best theory i've seen yet.
Imagine, a pokemon region filled with different formed mudkips.
and there final evolution would be Swampert.
and the starter types: {W}{W}{W} - Pure Genius!
 
1 gen: Salt water
2 gen: Fresh water
3 gen: Muddy water
4 gen: Icy water
5 gen: Acid water
...A platypus is actually poisounus...Could be a hint...
And a ground/fire pig whould be sooooo giggity giggity awsome!!:D:D:D
 
OK, I believe that the 1 on the left is a fire type starter because it has the long snout like cyndaquil. The one in the middle is the grass type because it is 4 legged like all other grass starters. That would leave the 3rd one to the right as a water type because it has a rigid neck which could be able to stretch to hold tons of water in it's mouth at a time.

That was what I speculate for the new starters
