what i dont get is why people think the fairy type will be a bad thing is it because you dont know what fairies are look up dullahan that is a fairy...you know what here is a dullahan : http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4812005072307631&pid=15.1 see that that is a fairy

Personally, I think they will not make fairy as much of a 'creature' type as dragon or bug, but more elemental, concentrating on magical powers and stuff, as we saw them from sylveon in the movie trailer, or that new arena that's speculated to be fairy-typed.

Well this has been discussed many times already on this thread. People who still view the typing as feminime are basing judgment from Sylveons appearance. I like Sylveon as a new addition, but I will agree that I can't see why it would ever be male - It is stereotypically girly. Each Eeveelution represents it's "element" in a blantant way. That's why we can't figure her type. So people assume that when fairy types come into play, Sylveon's appearance is the basis for that type. Meaning that any other fairy type will include pink or light colors. Such as the ones already being speculated to change (However Granbull is a mean looking fairy lol). This of course does not apply to every pokemon; although generally most types do match the pokemon's appearance in some way.

If you want to rationalise what a fairy type is and what they could look like, you should do it from the perspective of GF.

Knowing Gamefreak though and Pokemon itself, I think it's safe to say that they won't introduce an entirely new element just focused on a more female demographic. So people can stop worrying about that.

On top of that, it's still not even confirmed.

This may not have been your intent , you just sold me on being pokemon fairy master lol.
Even as a guy I love the light pink, blue and purple colors so if your wrong and all fairy types are like that I'm sold lol

About Prof. Sycamore giving a Kanto starter, I went to gamestop to preorder and the guy that took my preorder said something about their preorder bonus is being a Kanto starter.

That's awesome! There's nothing wrong with liking pink. Pink is sexy right? lol... Kinda...

I am not implying however that Sylveon is sexy...

Fairy is the new sexy type. We need a fairy pokemon like Ricardo from AT.

(Everything about this post is irrelevant)

Actually, pink even used to be a primary male/strong color: (from Wikipedia) :D

Some date the origin of the association of pink with girls in the United States to the 1910s or 1920s. Many have noted the contrary association of pink with boys in 20th-century America. An article in the trade publication Earnshaw's Infants' Department in June 1918 said:
The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.

I don't know if anyone is having the same trouble, but.. http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/root/ loads, though the page remains completely blank/white after it finishes loading.

I've cleared my cache and cookies, flushed my DNS, and tried other browsers (which also failed to load the website). No other computer in my house has trouble loading the website, so it's likely nothing to do with my internet connection/service provider/router.

Any help would be appreciated!

With all this speculation going on, what I most strongly want to know is the unknown typings for the new Pokémon that don't have types yet.

I love that!

Society needs to get back to it's roots or just accept the fact that stereotypical standards are for close minded people.

@AtmosphericThunder - The page works for me and we can speculate about it. lol. I would like to know as well though. People are saying that Xerneas is fairy while Yveltal is Dark/Flying. The only problem I have with that is: Xerneas gets a new type while Yveltal doesn't and the typing combo already exists. I would want to imagine that if one got special treatment then the other would get the same as well. Dark/Flying just doesn't really do it for me. Maybe the storyline would make more sense of it (assuming that everyone is right).

It is working fine for me. Is it the only link or is there any other link from X and Y failing?

I'm not sure, since I can't access the website to click any links.

I've cleared my cache and cookies, flushed my DNS, and tried other browsers (which also failed to load the website). No other computer in my house has trouble loading the website, so it's likely nothing to do with my internet connection/service provider/router.

Works fine with me. If you're on a mac try quitting the browser your on or if you're on windows just exit the browser then open it up again and try to go to the page. I do this on my mac and it always works. Or try turning off your router and turning it on after a few minutes. This has also worked for me. If it doesn't work then I wouldn't worry too much since theres nothing new.

I use an ASUS. I've also tried shutting off my router, which didn't help.

I know there's nothing new, but I'd still like to be able to access the official website. :/

I don't think the legendaries have to have the same uniqueness in typing (we really only see this in BW.)
Ho-oh = Fire-Flying firebird/phoenix done before with Moltres the generation before
Lugia = Psychic-Flying done with Natu/Xatu that generation

Groudon = mono-Ground
Kyogre = mono-Water (guess they don't count, lol)

Palkia = Water-Dragon (in that order too!) done before with Kingdra
Dialga = First Steel-Dragon ever.

Resh/Zek = First Dragon-Fire/Electric types ever.

I wish they'd give more media to look at than that trailer/sugimori art.

I actually tried that one too. Sorry that I forgot to mention it!
Then I probably can't help and its too much work to look for a solution so just wait for some time. Whenever a certain page won't load with me I just don't go on it for a while and the next day it actually loads

It's been a problem since the most recent news was officially announced on the website.

Thanks for your help though! :)

You're welcome. If its still not fixed by tomorrow PM me and I'll help you look for a solution.
