maybe if they made it with 3ds capabilites

What does the 3DS have that the DSi doesn't that they could put in to this game? The only thing that the 3DS has that the DSi doesn't have is the 3D, it has better graphics, but I don't think they could make better graphics just because that game is in a 3DS. I don't think they could put 3D effects in it either.

This sucks badly. I thought if they were to release a new Pokemon game, it would be on the 3DS. I am disappointed.

It makes sense though. Just like there's no reason they should have done Crystal for GBA or Emerald for the DS. We obviously don't know all the details about these games they just announced but if it's essentially a director's cut like the other 3rd versions in other gens, why would they waste time an extra year or so building a new engine, remodeling every pokemon and location just so they can say it's on the 3DS. They probably won't do a 3DS game until 6th gen.

I guess it does make sense for them to put it on the DS.
I am gonna hate this game if it just the same game but with "new features"

Well, the 3DS has the gyro controls, two outer facing cameras, and also the circle pad. The DSi lacks these things.

The 3DS has Streetpass, Spotpass, AR and better online capabilities. Plus Friend Lists that span all of your games, without the need for different friend-codes for every game. Pokemon would benefit from all of those features, minus Augmented Reality. Pokemon could use AR but not necessarily benefit from it.

Oops I didn't think that one out too much lol

the only reason i can think that these games AREN'T 3DS exclusive is the compatability factor, these games are still in the 5th generation and will have to be able to communicate with the original Black and White, otherwise it'll be like the trading system between Gold/Silver and Red/Blue, there'll be strict restrictions on what pokemon you can use, what item they hold, moves they learn ETC.

They most likely didn't put it on the 3ds becuase it's not a spin off game. More people wouldnt want to buy BW 2 than say Pokemon Rumble Blast. More people have a ds rather than a 3ds. In the end, they would just want to make more money :p

We already have that problem with D/P and B/W.

Also I was thinking maybe put one game on the 3DS and one on the DS. Or both Versions on the 3DS and the DS.

You know how much time and money that would cost the game creators? Espeically due to the fact these games are set to be released in Japan in June, there's not time to create the game on the DS AND the 3DS.

I don't think they are going to be spending time on two different versions of these games. Making just one version of these games takes them a considerable time to finish. They don't have time to work on two different versions just to satisfy the 3DS holders.

Actually if they wanted to, Nintendo could put both DS and 3DS games onto one cartridge. The 3DS cartridges now have 2 gigabytes of storage. The old Black/White games were around 256 MB in size, and 3DS games like Mario Kart 7 are around 600-700 MB. There are exceptions to this rule, but I think it could be possible.

More importantly lets talk about release dates. Generally every Pokemon game is released the previous year in Japan, and is available to NA around March or April, now we are dealing with a June release in Japan, where does that put us.

well these games have already been unveiled on the ENGLISH pokemon.com website, and they say 'Coming soon' and because most of the translation work has already been done from the previous games, i gonna guess there'll be 2-3 month gap.

What if in bw2 (i'm gonna use white and white 2 to be an example) The main character from white ( probably the male) gets picked by the plasma sage old guys to be the new plasma leader with Zekrom, so he creates a new team plasma thing, and the new character, the one you play with, teams up with N to fight this new threat. After many attempts of bringing down Zekrom, the player has to capture Kyurem and bring it to Reshiram, who then fuses its' essense with kyurem to make the new form, and then reshi turns to a gray stone (since it needs to go into slumber to regain it's energy). The main character with the new kyurem then beats zekrom after some actiony stuff.

This could fit into the movie, because maybe prior to the events of the movie kyurem does this with Reshi and Zek so it can transform at will.
Maybe the movie will show ultimate combined form as well.

Lol, I've been away for 2 days exactly while this was revealed and now theres 440 posts of crap to reply to...

but first things first.

I already suspected theyd cover Kyurem up with pieces of Reshiram and Zekrom, but because I was foolishly believing there would be a single game I didn't take it serious, hence why both on it was what I expected.

The silly type guessing in the news article is...silly.
There is no way it would lose it's Dragon type.
These legendaries are actually a trio of real dragons.
Unlike the Dimension trio, you can check their types and notice that Dragon really is on the first place for these guys.
Water/Dragon
Steel/Dragon
Ghost/Dragon
compared to:
Dragon/Fire
Dragon/Electric
Dragon/Ice
And they are even referred to throughout BW as legendary dragons.
So Kyurem stays Dragon no matter what.
I think its second type may switch between Ice and the energetic types depending on the forme, through some trigger (would be interesting it if changed somehow every other turn in the game or such XD).

A BW2 is ingenious.
Unova feels incomplete. It's perfect all the way up to the E4, but then it just stopped making sense!
I wondered how the Giant Chasm could become part of the story if the place cannot be visited before the story ends. (Landorus being in a part with mostly old pokes seemed just as weird)
But this raises plenty questions. There aren't enough pokemon in gen V to fill the east half of Unova. Will they leave them with the same old seemingly random lv50+ encounters as BW?

Some questions arise,
Will there actually be new protagonists and all?
New pokemon or not? Just Unova or more?
Farfetch'd.
Especially with the games already coming out in June! I was sure they'd go for September again. I have a feeling the translations will be released really fast, with how long this has been building up.

This whole thing has a Gold/Silver vibe to it though!
So I would not be surprised at all if the east half of Unova suddenly opened a new set of gyms and they made it Unovas Johto part.
A whole generation of new pokemon doesn't seem likely for sequels, but who would mind if we got a mini generation V+? Say 50 pokes? I doubt it but we shall see.

I love how the colour of the titles switched to fully black and fully white instead of being combinations, and the Kyurem forme actually fitting the version colour!

The formes themselves, are beautiful.
They resemble Zekrom and Reshiram, not too much, while still being Kyurem, and keeping asymmetrical thing going!

Gamefreak are freaking smart. They change things around JUST the moment they start to turn into a pattern and become predictable.
They never cease to surprise.

When you played games where the developers just dont care and only continue for profit for too long, you really start to appreciate companies like Gamefreak <3
They're doing great for long already, but still dont lose passion for this, regardless of the greed producing and creativity destroying system we live in.

How do these forms translate to the 1 form in the coding of Black/White?

There was no forme in black white, just a 1 instead of the usual 0 in number of different forms.
Something with 1 original and 37 extra forms would have a 38 there. Hence Rotom had a 1 in DP, which turned into 6 in Platinum.
So Kyurems 1 will go to 3 for BW2 (if we assume there wont be a third full combination form)

LOL @ ppl being surprised that they're DS games.
It was so simple and obvious, and pointed out already. The most money is made if they're DS games with 3DS features. And oh look.

@ppl going "ewww fusions?"
I doubt there will be any fusion (except for anything related to the original single Dragon), especially not outside story.

Ima read the thread a bit more.

What about the Beldum line? Two Beldum fuse to make Metang, and two Metang fuse to make Metagross. (technically, not mechanically of course)

Pokedex entries are not serious. They're like some kind of random comedy part of the games at times and include some really ridiculous things. Can you evolve 2 Beldum by merging them? No, you level it to 20. :p
