It said that in the article.

OMG. Not that it's bad, but what have they done to pokemon!? This is crazy! WOW! What I don't like though, is that pokemon is turning too much into Yu-Gi-Oh. But loook at that amazing artwork on Ho-oh and Lugia! Sheesh! and it seems to me Great Pokemon are really just EXs all over again. But holy crud. I just can't stop being amazed. I can imagine having people ahve one aprt of the Legend pokemon each and trying to trade each otehr lol.

I for one really like the road this set seems to be taken, away from hyper-speed decks, less donking potential, and so on.

I don't see it that way. People will just gravitate towards the faster decks (such as Rain Dance).

PUSA didn't have to make 2 cards to make a pokemon. They just wanted people to buy more packs to get the other halfs. IMO even though the cards look awesome they have messed up the mechanics :(

I don't know why you are blaming PUSA for japanese cards.

They better be making a Mew like this soon, or people are going to get hurt...

But seriously, this looks amazing, I mean, seriously, DUNSPARCE? FINALLY! And it's not half-bad either ... in a way. It's like normal-energy Shuppet, which I guess has to have some sort of advantage. Less stuff with resistance for it, I guess, combining both might not even be a bad idea.

Seriously, there's all these over-the-top, super-mega artwork cards, Lugia, Ho-oh, Red Gyarados, and in the middle of it all... The one and only Dunsparce. Gotta love that.

The legend and "Great" Pokémon seem to be more set-up and strategy based, so this might be the final move away from the speed-based format we've been having for quite some time now. The Legends will probably take quite a while to set up, but seem more than rewarding when you do manage to get them out, let's just hope collecting both parts isn't too hard, and that the set will have at least some decent not-very-rare cards. The greats seem, well, great, as a concept at least, I just wonder what the drawback will be...

Oh, yeah. OMG THOSE LEGENDS LOOK AMAZING!!! I mean, seriously, that's just awesome. Can't wait for the Mew >;)
The rest of the artwork looks pretty cool as well, although the "Great" Pokémon might be a little too close-up, but at least it differentiates them from the other cards. Can't wait to see some of the normal cards from this set, I've been waiting for a new Venomoth, Ariados, Wigglytuff and Hypno for some time now, and they are all somehow what likely to end up in either this or the next set.
Oh, and Mew

Mew! Mew will be awesome. Except that he'll be all evil and ferocius and not cute at all.

The art is decent, except for the legends. But I find that the "Great" Pokemon artwork is too similar to the promo versions of the Unseen Forces EXs.

This set is binder bait. I will not enjoy it, and I find that the game is turning back to the "Spend over a million bucks to make a decent deck" strategy. Legend's are horrible, there is no strategy, Blastiose is back and neither Dunsparce nor Shuckle have Legends cards. And I really miss the lost zone.

And I can hardly wait for Unown legends:
Unown Legend {P} 50Hp
Pokepower: Bad Card
Once during your turn, you may use this Pokepower. Remove 1 damage counter from all of your Pokemon.

{P}{P}{P}{P} Rotten Attack 20
Unown Legend is now paralyzed, poisoned and burned. During your opponent's next turn, Unown Legend's weakness is x4.

Weakness: {P}x2
Resistance: ...
Retreat cost:{C}{C}{C}{C}

I couldn't agree with you more. I may play up until the relase of this set.

Wow. The Legend cards have the best art ever. However, the x2 Weakness coming back sucks. Goods is a meh name. And the return of all the old cards like Venusaur, Blastoise, and Lugia Ex kind of sucks. The cards themselves aren't the best yet (although I will wait to see what other stuff they can come up with). LolDunsparce. Shiny Gyarados is AMAZING. (Want it soooo bad.) And I'm going to laugh when they put in one half of the Legends card per box. :D

dmaster out.

I really hope the text cards aren't hard to obtain. This art is amazingly beuatiful. Hats up to our very muvhed loved and hated PUSA.

RE: (2) 14 HGSS Card Images, New 'LEGEND: HeartGold and SoulSilver Collection' News [

Come on guys the build into a Legend card isn't that hard.

All Legend cards are basic pokemon, and require both cards to be played legally onto the bench or into attack. They're on par-if not WAY more powerful-than the LV.X and certainly more than the Great Pokemon. Given this power is psychotic is the reason for the two-card system. You 'level up' into a Legend by getting both cards and playing them where you would have originally built a family-tree of Pokemon up to a LV.X. So it takes just as long to build one unless your deck manipulation tech is very good so you can't just break the game right off the bat.

If you could play them off one card right off the start the game would literally break.

Remember, LEGEND era is going to carry the TCG for the next 4-5 years (possibly more) until Generation V, hence the massive change in the gameplay. It's a very refreshing style of play, with Great cards acting like EX cards (without the drawback of a 2-prize card loss if your Great pokemon is knocked out) and Legend cards ... being Legend cards. I can't compare the Legend cards to Lv.X because they're in their own league, tbh. Great cards are more like Lv.X in base power, HP, and rarity (white-star ultra rares). Legend is completely new.

The Block is the LEGEND block, no?
So wouldn't it make A BUNCH of sense to make the legends look good?
And how would you fit those awesome legendary pictures like those of Lugia and Ho-oh onto one card and still look good? The artwork makes the legendaries look more "legendary" IMO, and the two-part mechanic makes it so that the cards have decent artwork and that they aren't broken beyond belief. My only complaint is when you are attaching energies to the two halves and trying to keep them together on the bench (I'm kind of a messy player).

Lugia and Ho-oh will be mine. That Typhlosion is awesome IMO, as he could potentially combo with new cards if they print the cards with the right attacks. There is a couple that are completely suicidal, but very much achievable with Typhlosion. Lumineon can finally abuse its power to the fullest with Feraligatr, and Meganium is better than Sceppy SF IMO because of Meganium's power relative to the energy cost. 80 for 4 is better than 60 and heal 20 for 4 as you can one-shot junk with 160 HP or less, instead of 120 or less.

This set is lookin' good so far. And they better print Mew and Celebi LEGEND. Heck put them in the same set.

Having had chance to ruminate on the changes that the LEGENDS block is bringing to the TCG, I've decided that I thoroughly dislike it.

Great Pokémon are my biggest dislike. It's Pokémon-ex without a drawback. They're strong and too easy to get into play. It's a real case of phasing out LV.X and trying to find a way to make sure they're not missed. It speeds up the game again, but not necessarily for the better. There's now no point in them producing a regular Feraligatr or similar, who's going to even consider playing it? IMO the LV.X was one of the best game mechanics we've had - they're strong, you had to level up your Active and they were separate from your regular Basics and Evolution cards, but it was based on the game itself and the whole principle of levelling up. Great Pokémon seem broken without any evident drawbacks, and have no grounding in the game itself. Plus I don't like the close-up art so much.

Legend Pokémon look superb, though they'll look crappy in a binder. The artwork is beautiful, if you can put them together, and they have collection value (and obvious difficulties of acquisition to note!) nonetheless, and full credit for PCL for attempting something different. Attack layout looks ugly though, and are they really worth playing? Nah, not really. Pretty images, breathtaking even, but lacking in some areas of execution.

The card layouts don't impress me. The little tabs around name and HP don't look amazing (a little too much like a fan-made template, even!), and it leaves it looking top heavy with the sparse bottom stats. They could even have kept the W/R swirls to make it look more balanced. Not an improvement on DPt. Though the borders are pretty!

x2 Weaknesses ... :(

Artwork generally great. Attacks unoriginal/uninspiring.

Still, I'll blank 'em when I get hi-res scans :)

Lugia and Ho-oh are some of the best art work I've ever seen on a pokemon card. Over all the artwork is amazing. Rain Dance is back!!

:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

When I saw the LEGEND cards, I couldn't stop stuttering, They are amazing. If I pulled one, I'd scream. They look so.. so.. real. :O Wait, they're split in to halfs at once? I thought they could just be folded. T_T And the Great Pokemon are false advertising. >:O

I don't see too many problems with this set. Great Pokemon seem like a return to the original metagame almost, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm almost glad that they're going back to the 2x weakness. For some reason, -10 and -20 weaknesses seemed too low to me.

LEGEND cards look amazing, but I'll never get them in boosters and I'll have to buy them myself because I never pull Pokemon-ex and I never /ever/ pull Pokemon Lv.X.

People are complaining about them being goaded into buying more cards, but really you still need to buy a bajillion boosters to have a competent deck /now/. I certainly don't just magically pull Uxie and Claydol in every pack. Do you guys? Because I want some.

The legend cards have unreal artwork, but i am not a big fan of how the two card system works. It will be hard to collect and it will be really fussy in game play(moving it from active to bench). I still give the legend cards a thumbs up.

I think the great card's artwork could be better, not just showing the head of the pokemon, and is it me or are the cards are becoming weaker and slower(Meganium's attack that does 80 damage for 4 energy, and no efect with the attack).

Wow. I wanna find out more how the legend cards will work! The artwork on those cards look amazing!

For the slowing down part, read the post above yours, and you'll see that they referenced the old base set days. Back then, you basically didn't have stuff like 70 for 1 and no really bad drawback. The norm was like 60 for 4. So it's not just you. I think that the cards should be getting slower, as the game is getting a little too fast for my taste. And if LEGEND block is anything like Neo, then it'll try to change the game as well, and I think for the better. Personally I also like Johto and the 2nd gen the best out all of the regions because of stuff like Furret, the Apricorns, and Dunsparce.
