(2) All Names Possibly Revealed, More 'Black' and 'White' English Names Revealed [1/13]

Ok.. to get this back on track... everyone. Name you like best, why. Name you like least, why.

Like Best: Krookodile. Reminds me of Kremling names from Donkey Kong. Besides, he looks like he'd steal my stuff.
Like Least: Stoutland. Sounds more like a region than a name. Maybe if it was Stoutand or Stouland I'd be ok with it.

I think the problem with the movie trailer was the visual presentation. When I saw it, the visuals were the first thing that hit me as a major turn-off.

It's probably be hard for me to find a most faved and most disliked since I don't really rank it in a perfect total order (google order theory if you dont know what that is).

I guess Throh and Sawk are major dislikes for me, but they shall be redeemed from the guaranteed laughs in the dub when they go around saying their names repeatedly (whoever came up with that idea for pokemon vocalisations unintentionally uncovered a comedic goldmine). I like Emolga because it has emo in it and I find it a lot funnier than friend in cofagrigus

Actually if I were in Thailand or Burma, "Throh" and "Sawk" would probably sound pretty normal. But I'm not in Thailand or Burma so to me they're pretty much just Asian martial artist Elmo and Grover

Yea.... It is hard to find one that's the most favored and least favored, but I know when I look at 'em all... most of them I'm indifferent to.

My favorite... Klingklang. Say it outloud. Do it. Giggling yet? XD

Least favorite... Gothitelle, but only because Gothiselle sounds more elegant.

Just realized that Litwick is Professor Flitwick :]

I like the legendaries names, and Thundurus and Tornadus sound better than Tornelos and Voltolos.

And Alomomola=pure epic unrefined derp.
And I wish that Scolipede was Scoliopede, as Scolipede makes me think of scollops, which have nothing to do with the Pokemon.

I am officially happy with every single one of these names. On the contrary, some of these names, like many people are saying, are some of Game Freak's best.

Sawsbuck is downright incredible, all of the starters + evolutions have very creative names (especially Emboar, in my opinion), Roggenrola is just awesome (which is great considering Gigalith is a beast), Volcarona and Haxorus are definitely in my top 10, and Krookodile is another great. I truly think that all of these names are very creative and fit each Pokemon extremely well.

When I first saw these, I was skeptical. At this point I am fully convinced this is real. While WPM said some seem too stupid to be real, I believe he was mistaken. I think that this is going to be an incredible roster to complete in Black and White.

Paddy, I can't help but wonder why you consider Alomomola such a bad name. It's just a slight scrambling of molamola, the species of fish it's based on. I admit that Amolomola might have been better, to mix in 'amour' to drive the heart shape home, but then it might have been too heavily associated with Luvdisc (well, moreso than it already is). Normally I don't like attribute + species names, but when you're based on a molamola you can get away with it.

Anyway, my favorite....there are a lot of really good ones, but if I had to pick one out it would be either Carracosta (which I believe is a really creative way of combining 'carrapace' and a corruption of 'coast'; could be wrong, but it still gets the idea across) or Druddigon (have said this before, it sounds gritty and tough and generally fits the pokemon very well).

Least favorite has got to be Golurk for me, though Throh and Sawk deserve mention. It's not a bad name overall, but it just doesn't come anywhere close to capturing the essence of an ancient flying robot golem. I might be biased here because it's my favorite pokemon design in all 600+ pokemon, so it getting a name that doesn't suit it means more to me than any other pokemon getting a name that doesn't suit it, but my point stands. I tend to care more about a name suiting a pokemon than a name sounding cool, and Golurk just doesn't suit it.

I think Golurk actually does get the point across... it's part ground and part ghost. So Golem (made of earth/ground) and Lurk (what ghosts do).

But hey.. we all have out preferences. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. ;)

As for the names being the most creative so far.. I'd say it's just on par with what it should be. There is a decent mix of good and lame just like there always is... and depending on who you talk to.. the ratio between good and lame is different. Just like every gen. But yeah, after initial reservations when quickly reading over the list wear off, many of them just plain work.

The 'lurk' is what I have a problem with - I just can't see a pokemon that big and awesome lurking. If it sees you coming, it won't hide. It'll jump out and punch you in the face...but I digress. Would've rather seen Golaunt (could just be 'haunt' instead of 'lurk', but could also be interpreted as including 'gauntlet', in reference to those huge armored fists of his)...although I admit, it could have gotten worse than Golurk.

Well, now I know what the name is derived from I guess I will start to warm up to it.
And when we get an update from pokemonblackandwhite.com, we will know if they are fake or not! Unless one of them was correctly guessed, probably unlikely though.
(And tbh I really can't stand Sawk and Throh. I don't even know how to pronounce Throh....)

It's funny to me how at first I completely hated all of these rumored names, and now I'm getting pretty used to them. :D

I still hope some of them are slightly edited with names, like Joltik to JOLTICK and other names without the -ck.

However, some names (ex. Scraggy and Scrafty) I really don't like, I'm just simply going to rename.:)

yes, i understand that some of the names are confirmed, but what about all of the UNconfirmed ones?

BTW, I liek the ice cream pokemon names. I still hate the middle evo though.

EDIT: exuse my sig, it was kinda directed at a certain charizard fan that was being rude last night.

Augustice, this list leaked before the recently confirmed Pokemon were actually confirmed. All of the names that were just confirmed on the official site were exactly as they are on this list.

Based on the creativity and originality behind some of these names, there is a very good chance the list is real. Obviously we won't know that for a fact until all of them are confirmed.

The latest issue (or unova) of Nintendo Power confirms that the Live Caster is now, in English, the Cross-Transceiver. I like it a lot better than Live Caster.

I liked live caster better, it was much shorter, and had an easier way of explaining what the thing actually does. But Cross-Transceiver sounds more technological like what i see BW to be, a step forward, better technology, more science. Which is what that name suggests.
