(2) BW8 Cards, Salamence Promo [11/20]

Am I the only one around here who read Salamence's Ability as "Breaking Wind"? The Chandelure picture is amazing and the ability seems useful but only time will tell. The attack isn't so hot however.
All of the Eevee's seem neat/interesting but nothing too game changing. Jolteon puts the hurt on EXs but not allowing them to attack. BUT Darkrai EX and Keldeo EX all have ways of working around that. Flareon first attack come from an old ghost pokemon which had an attack with a similar effect, but I think it had a cap after like 6 Pokemon. Could you imagine combo decks of the new Chandelure and this Flareon. Use Chandelure's ability to KO something you don't need anymore (and get fire energy in discard pile) it buffs up Flareon's attack.
The Espeon/Umbreon duo always seem to be very well in their own right...well Espeon is bad. BAD. It's first attack deals damage and has a Bianca effect. The 2nd attack cost P and snipes for 40. If you can start doing this turn 2. It will be great to donk off eels and other decks that use low HP starters/basics. But after their turn 2/3 It's not going to be able to a whole lot. Umbreaon is not that much better. It does have an ability DARK ZONE which gives all Team Plasma Pokemon +20 HP. So if you were reading about into the Flareon/Chandelure deck this would not be a good tech-in because it will shorter your KO time and thus reduce Vengenance's power! If there are any colorless Plasma Pokemon then Umbreon paired with Cheren's gym will give them +40HP! UNHEARD OF! So something with 0 HP can no survive 2 Night Spear snipes :)
Glaceon my favorite eevolution! Freeze Zone ability reduces all retreat cost of plasma pokemon by 2! When I think of freeze I think of stopping. So why does the Freeze Zone allow things to move faster? Maybe has something to do with Glaceon being so cold and removing the heat from the other pokemon they start running away faster? I don't know. Anyway. It has a pretty basic attack WCC 60 puts opponent Asleep.
I think it's going to be pretty hard for any water pokemon to see any play now with blasoise and keldeo.

Think about slipping and sliding on the ice.

Is there an image of Shadow Triad I've missed?

Not that's on the main page that I can see...It might be in a separate image that isn't posted.

I just noticed something.... In the lower left of the left-side magazine page, you can see a different set of Eeveelution cards, CLEARLY WITH ALTERNATE ART! They're definately not Plasma, so I'd venture to guess that these are simply alt art reprints of the DEX Eeveelutions. As small as they are, I simply cannot tell for sure.

Just thought I'd throw that out there...

They're part of the Pokecenter exclusive binder, it comes with a page of DEX reprint promos. I can't recall if WPM ever posted about it.

Wait, they are only Japanese promo's *Begins ruthlessly hurting TPCi for not making them English Promo's* I wanted that Flareon :|

Give it some time, bro. We're about three months behind Japan at all times and those Eeveelution promos either just were or aren't even released there yet.

More like 5. It's all Emerging Powers' fault.

Inb4 Lugia ex spikes to $60 a pop. Gosh, every one is going to be running him and for good reasons. Thanks TCPi for thinking about us poor people who want to play and have a good chance. I guess I'll stick with the VG area. It's cheaper and everyone has an almost fair chance... *cough* event crap *cough*

fixed it for you :p if it's anywhere on the radar of mewtwo or darkrai in their glory days (which it should be) then it will jump up to at least $80 :|

Lugia won't be needed as a 3-of in every competitive deck, as was Mewtwo, and Mewtwo only peaked at $60. Lugia is only needed in one deck. It will be a $40 card at the most.

1) early zeels decks from HS-NXD only used 1-2 mewtwo, not 3

2) mewtwo peeked at $90 (I don't go by ebay)

3) lugia is an easy, strong tech in pretty much any plasma deck...

1) ZekEels used at least 2, most good versions used 3.

2) Why would you ever use anything other than the lowest price? That's what you'd buy, so that's what you'd go by.

3) We'll have to wait and see, but it definitely wouldn't be more than a 1-of.

I still stand by it being $40.

so then all those zeels decks that won states and regs weren't good because they didn't run 3 mewtwo? (not to mention that decks like terrakion, mageels, and tyram normally used 1 mewtwo at most, even CMT would sometimes only run 2 mewtwo) Also even though I would go for the cheapest price I could find, that doesn't mean that the card is actually worth that much, it just means I got a good deal. I could name 4-5 decks off the top of my head that would be able to use lugia and about half of those would use 2 or more lugia, so why would it only be a 1-of?

I still stand by it being $80, Saying that it's going to spike at $40 is like saying it will be as popular at tornadus EX (and yes, tornadus EX reached around $40 at the peak of his time)

I think it's "peek" will be about 80 dollars, but that's probably only going to be during Prerelease's. Once those are over and States start up, it will probably be around 60 at most.
