They all usually coincide very closely post Red/Green in Japan as far as I know. (And it would just be more logical in a marketing sense anyway.) But the main RPGs are typically what is considered the core of what Pokemon is, so whenever those are released to be really precise about it.Veritas said:

I'm starting to lose interest. I was hoping the early video was a tech demo showing the way things looked, and that Chikorita wasn't actually going to follow the player, but it looks like I was wrong. Now there are screenshots of Chikorita and Cyndaquil following the trainer, as well as the Pichu (which I realize is probably part of an event).
If this isn't a choice, I'm going to lose interest fast. I didn't like it in Yellow, I never go to Amity Square, what a stupid idea to force it on everyone.

Then don't play it? The general consensus from a lot of parties is that it's very nice that they're bringing it back (especially if more than just your starters can follow you). It's just a sprite following you, it's not like you're forced to do anything special with it.

I'm more than happy they're bringing the game back, but I've met loads more people who are opposed to the idea of being forced to have a sprite follow you around through the game than those who are for it.
The fact that it's annoying is enough, I don't need to have to do anything with it for it to be annoying. As I said, if it's a choice (which would be the smart decision), then I have no problem. Otherwise I'll lose interest, and yes, subsequently, I won't play it.
I never said "god now I have to get this game AND deal with the annoying starter following". I said I'd lose interest. A loss of interest would mean I wouldn't play it, so that was fairly obvious from the start. Last time I checked, it was still acceptable to express one's dislike of certain aspects of a game.

You're probably going to be able to turn it off anyways, seeing as you can change the Pokémon that follows you.

The new artwork is astounding... Every piece of it is amazing. I can't wait to get the clear versions of them...
Also, was this all that was Pokémon-related in this month's Coro Coro? I know there's a Movie 12 plot update happening on the 15th, so I was expecting something from this... I guess I'll just wait a few more days.

The art is really cool. And yes, Blissey looks a little fatter. xD I don't like how gold looks, though. He doesn't look as cool as the original. He looks a lot younger. Probably just me.
