7th Gen Ideas!

I know, my friend told me right after I posted it. I never used Hydreigon, so I forgot it existed ; w ;

Im so sorry. please don't hit me with the fairy stick

For me, I want to see a region based on Flying Pokemon where the whole game takes place in an area that relies on flying around at high attitudes. Maybe something that is based on mountains. I also want to see the Bird Type become a new type (since it was planned for Gen 1) and have it separated from Flying type, since flying type is associated with Dragons, undershadowing Bird Pokemon to begin with. Bird Type can keep some of the same type advantages and disadvantages but get rid of the rock weakness, since I never understood that.

I also want soaring to be a thing here as well but allow you to fly on any final evolved Pokemon that can "fly".

The biggest thing I want, even above new Pokemon, is greater accessibility to creating ideal Pokemon teams.

Crafting a personalized Pokemon team (or even trying out some ideas you heard of) takes way to long. It's why I enjoy the TCG more. I can put any cards I want into the deck and start testing and tweaking. I would play Pokemon a lot more if getting the ideal Nature/EV/Moves/Ability wasn't such a grind (I'm ok with IV being an X-factor). I would rather spend this time having fun battling and perfecting strategies, cause they are the biggest reason I play the game. This time dedication is what prevents me from doing much outside of beating the main game.

GOLIRK for deh win! Lol

Honestly I'd be overjoyed if all the new gen gave us was the Underground w/ Secret Bases. Other stuff: massive buffs to the terrain moves (i.e. Misty, Grassy, and Electric Terrain). I think these are really cool moves that are totally underused. Maybe give some Pokemon some Drought/Drizzle like abilities that activate a terrain on switch in. Also, overall difficulty increase (or difficulty option at the start of the game). It's way too easy to just breeze through the Elite Four with one Pokemon.

Make the new gen a overall of gameplay. Like make the gameplay Pokemon like we all expect from the main games but update it to make it easier to play for us other gamers. Make it like Shadow of Mordor. Those kind of RPGs. A third person action-adventure over the shoulder, not top down or whatever it's called.

The Ice Type deserves some overtime beneficial treatment.

As established, Ice could be retconned to resist Water, Grass, Flying, Ground, and/or to a lesser extent, Dragon Type moves, while also gaining benefitted Sp. Def boosts in Hail. The way the Type's poor defensive capacities right now might have something to do with climate change, which is something interesting to tackle in Gen VII.

New Abilties could also support the Ice Type, just like there were a few introduced in Gen V for Ground Types. I'm mostly thinking of seeing Ice Type-benefitting variants of Sand Rush and Sand Force.

This might seem way too ridiculously overpowered, but Ice Types deserve some more love in the competitive environment, don't you think?

The Ice type is always good for conversation. ;) I do recall Mitja having a thread or two about this, so I'm sorry in advance if I repeat any of his suggestions subconsciously.

While I do think the Fairy type was good and a healthy choice for the game, as well as bringing the types to a nice even eighteen, they could also just have easily made Ice immune to Dragon and be done with it. It's true that there should also probably be an improved Ice type chart overall. I think this looks good enough:

Offensive:
2x:
Grass, Ground, Flying, Dragon
1/2x: Steel, Fire, Ice
0x:

Defensive:
2x: Fighting, Fire, Steel, Water
1/2x: Ice, Ground, Grass
0x: Dragon

As for hail, changes definitely need to be made, too. I think this is an improved chart:
  • Damages each Pokémon that is not Ice-type, Fighting-type, or Fire-type (1/16 of max HP).
  • Increases Defense of Ice-type Pokémon by 50%
  • Activates Forecast, Ice Body, and Snow Cloak, as well as new Abilities equivalent to those for other weather.
  • Makes Weather Ball Ice-type; doubles power.
  • Halves Solar Beam's power.
  • Blizzard always hits (through Protect/Detect).
  • Moonlight, Synthesis, Morning Sun heal 25% max HP.

I like most of the changes, but I don't think all Water moves should be super effective against Ice. I think Water should deal neutral damage unless using Scald or Steam Eruption, similar to how Freeze Dry is super effective on Water types, but other Ice moves aren't.

Hmm, well there's a lot of things I want to happen and then there's things I think are going to happen. I'm going to go somewhere in between.

-There should be around 80-120 new Pokemon, unless they want to do a Gen 7.5 in which case they should shoot for 60-80 in the first set of games. Stick with the same amount of legendaries as 6th gen, but throw in a few more cross gen evolutions.
-The regional dex should be smaller than Kalos, somewhere in the 200-300 range. This gives the new Pokemon somewhat of a majority while still allowing for a mix of older Pokemon.
-New Mega Evolutions of course. I'm not sure if this is going to happen in this game or in the next Kalos game, but we're probably going to see more 5th and 6th gen Megas as well as Megas for 2nd gen mascots (since we're probably not going to go back to Kalos anytime soon).
-Perhaps a few tweaks to the type chart, but nothing major (like giving Ice more resistances or removing Fairy's resistance to Bug).
-As far as new type combinations, I have a few preferences:

-Electric/Fighting, Electric/Psychic, or Electric/Dark
-Grass/Fire
-Fire/Fairy
-Ice/Fighting or Ground/Fighting
-Bug/Dragon
-Poison/Fairy or Ghost/Fairy

-Solidify some of 6th gen's changes to the type chart with stronger moves and Pokemon for Fairy, Poison, and Steel.
-Some type of MMO-esque co-op mode where you can adventure with other players.
-Storyline wise, I want to see them do something new with the story structure. One thing that I think would be neat to see would be for them to shake up the concept of a mascot, like maybe you can get a pre-evolved form of the mascot earlier on and then it evolves by the end of the game.

That's all I can think of right now.

Now thinking about it i wanna see a big gentle tree. Like a new venusaur but combined with a better mega audino.

already mentioned this in another thread but i'd like to see pokémon based on more specific kinds of i.r.l. plant life: like a cashew, or sagebrush. no cards with trainer lock should ever be printed again. i think that prerelease promos/ deck boxes/ whatever they do now should be replaced with visors that have the set logo embroidered on them (plan on emailing POP about this). more steel types. more birds.
