Aegislash ex from “Future Flash”

Aegislash ex and its evolution line have been revealed from the Japanese sets Ancient Roar and Future Flash, which release in Japan on October 27th. We expect most cards from these sets to be incorporated into Paradox Rift, our November set.
Honedge – Metal – HP60
Basic Pokémon
[M] Reckless Charge: 30 damage. This Pokémon also does 10 damage to itself.
Weakness: Fire
Resistance: Grass (-30)
Retreat: 1

Doublade – Metal – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Honedge

would this make it possible to get a Ageislash from the pre-release and pull a ageslash to use?
 
Now that we’re out of the intro phase of SV I guess it’s possible to get the non-rulebox and ex in the same set. I know they want us to buy from different sets so they release cards like gargancl in this set and a playable future ex in a later set. Hopefully this means we’ll start having some lines with both in one set.
 
This means that the last two SIRs are hands and shocks right? As future flash has 89 and 90 revealed, so the type has to be before psychic, and ancient roar has 88 and 90 revealled, so it has to be between water and dark, so the only options left are hands for future flash which means it's most like sandy shock for ancient roar

I believe you may be overthinking it. With the single prize version that's immune to Ex/V you just need an answer in your deck for opponents that run single prize attackers. I think this does the trick. The problem is that the doublade offers no real value. The game needs more stage 1s that are viable. Without Kirlia, Gardevoir Ex is a bad deck.
 
Honestly pretty good attacks for their cost... and I suppose if you've taken 2-5 prizes, you can do Cheryl shenanigans since the attack cost of 1 would do 140-350 damage. Maybe you can pair it with Dialga VSTAR to take 2-4 prizes, then after you have Dialga VSTAR ko'd you bring this big boy in. If we get a Metal Frying Pan or Goggles kind of card or reprinr to take better advantage of its bulk by giving it damage reduce and a strong secondary effect, it could be a lot of fun.

If you're not playing it for its bulk though, Gholdengo ex is just better, having a consistency ability, being stage 1, and being able to OHKO anything even early game.

Honedge/Doublade/Aegislash ex - it's fine. 3/3/3
 
Not entirely sure why the attack needed to have a 30 damage recoil, but alright. Could be a fun deck running 4-1-2-2 line. Both Aegislashes only needs 2 energy to attack so it should be pretty smooth to build up.

Tinkaton in paldea had a normal and a rule box, I think it's cool tho cause they work together quite well, hopefully we get armarouge ceruledge that work well together

What’s ironic about that is that isn’t a guaranteed good idea to put into play either. You need to first confirm your opponent isn’t playing the Aegislash deck half themselves or you can just lock up a bench or active spot waiting to attack.

Any attack doing that much raw damage for 2 energy is gonna have a downside or condition.

I think people are underestimating how good Gardevoir ex’s abillity is. Gardevoir ex is the the last ex that would need a playable stage 1 or stage 2 support Pokémon to work well. Whenever they rotate it will remain good. The deck will adapt similar to how lugia has with rotation. Maybe turn into a pidgeot ex and arven deck with new tech attackers.

This doublade is the new doublade in my aegislash deck. Shame its kind of formatless, with a few different aegislashes over the years. Wish there was a format with rules that could accommodate things like this.

aegislash ex doesn't blow me away, but its attacks are just good enough to build around in a rogue deck scenario. peerless edge can OHKO anything in the late game, and then double-edged slash hits the magic number of 220 for early-mid-game attacking.

my first idea with this deck is to use a combination of metal transfer bronzong and cheryl to make aegislash ex a tanky attacker that can still keep energy in play. it could pair with path to the peak to slow the opponent down, so that aegislash can get a potential extra turn of attacking against something like charizard ex.

Maybe, but I'm just pointing to typical card design these days. On a basic it would have prevented attacking on the next turn, which is definitely more of a downside than a little recoil.
