Are those *fruit* hexagons in the grid behind Eevee? That's so random, but the green looks an awful lot like kiwi. I guess we'll have to see when a hifi image gets released.

Pretty much my one complaint with this set. I don’t wanna sound like a new gen hater at all (I love a ton of the new alts like the palafin and the Ghouldengo) but I was really hoping we’d get some Pokemon like Gengar, Decidueye, Cinderace, Ho-Oh etc. I get that we’re gonna have an entire year of what’s probably gonna be fan service mons coming up, but would’ve loved to see some of my personal favorites represented.
I wish there were words in the English language to excentuate how frustrated I am in the fact they gave ogerpon 4 more alt arts AND. a gold card and they ALL LOOK EXACTLY the same. Ogerpon now has 8 alt arts, 2 gold cards, and an art rare (ETB Promo) anyone else find that absolutely ludicrous?
As a new gen "defender" this set is not even something I think I agree with. Because even if its new pokemon ... its the same pokemon that already got art, Palafin doesnt even excite me as much since we had 2 already. I guess I dont mind as much because Paradox will probably cease to exist for a long while after gen 10 drops and same with the tera exlusive forms (Ogerpon and Terapagos). But yeah its why I think 50ish secret rares were yes too few for a high class set, Otherwise it wouldve allowed for competitive cards, popular and even niche pokemon

I know we're getting full arts for Supporters, but will they apply to Pokémon ex, and are we getting reprints for Pokémon ex that already have full arts?

I'm wondering, how do people feel about the golden UR cards put at the end of every high class set? Obviously the AR/SAR cards are superior, but do people still at least like them on their own? Aside from the illustrated VSTAR Universe URs, which high class set did them best?
Right? I read mostly positive comments on this set but i'm pretty disappointed.
80% of the artworks are pretty weak, especially in comparison to the other SV SARs (which is of course subjective).
Only one SAR per box and no ARs is sad too. So i got 2-3 great packs (SAR, Masterball & maybe a SR) and the rest are stinkers.
I was hoping for more.
Fand are just spoiled these days. There are 32 cards of the highest rarity in this set. It’s like the epitome of what you could want. Not even ARs made Japanese boxes worth it to begin with in the past.
Moreover this remains a reprint set and a special set. I don’t see why people just skip it. The next cards come in January.
Yes. Trainer golds are goated, especially stadiums. I would've been happy to see a gold jamming tower in this set.
Wake and Leaves are odd choices, but I think it makes sense in a vacuum. They wanted to make Paradox URs where the shading matched the Ancient and Future icons (brown-orange and blue). Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant would've been better candidates, but I guess they reasoned that since those two already have SARs in this set, Leaves and Wake should get the Paradox URs...?why didn't they take the opportunity to give gholdengo a gold card lmao. what is walking wake doing there
I agree that Gholdengo should've gotten a UR though, that seems like such an obvious card to print, and there was certainly room for another UR or two

Special Gold Cards-
VMAX CLIMAX - For me these were alright. Cool concept, okay CGI art but nothing I loved 6/10, for me 4/10
VSTAR UNIVERSE- God Quartet. Egawa is a swing and mostly miss artist for me. I like maybe 20% of her cards. That being said these were superb! The weakest of them for me was the Giratina, loved the positioning of PokeSatan just wanted it to stand out more as the others did their cards 9/10. Personally 6/10.
Did not pick these up because while objectively these are amazing, I don't care much for Egawa or the Pokegods.
SHINY TREASURE EX- I hated the teal BG, and I really like blue-green and teal tones. The thick lines were not a good design choice either imo. Was a big fan of how the mons were raised here though, but a hard pass. Objectively 5/10, for me 3/10.
Just ugly to look at IMO and I really like 4/6 mon they picked here (As someone who doesn't care for baby shinies this is easily the weakest special set in general for me personally. Stale concept with only 3 real chases for me which was the Gardevoir, Nemona, and Penny SARs) Other than picking up my chases I skipped this set entirely.
Terrastal Festival - I really like these. 3 pokemon are done in different monotone colors against a gold background which is simple but really pleasing to me. The rainbow on the Pika and Terapagos look sick. Love how the thin clean sharp lines of the art look here. Art isn't the best but better than Climax and Universe golds. I really want to get all of them and display them on my wall. ( plus 12 more each to have each one fill out a binder page, my wallet and time allowing ofc lol) Generally and 7/10 but a personal 10/10 for me.
Going back the last 4 special sets with this one icluded, 2 have done it right and 2 bombed IMO.
What are your thoughts on them?
