Am I allowed to link to _ site?

My signature connects to my trade thread... Is that breaking the rule even through it links to Pokebeach.com, not other websites?

No, it does not break the rules. Trade threads are fine.

Other Pokemon fansites?
Yes, as long as you are not blatantly advertising it and it has something which contributes to the discussion that PokeBeach does not. However, you are NOT allowed to link to any other Pokemon site in your signature or bio. Also, do not PM links to people in an attempt to get them to join a site.

I'm pretty sure it would fall under that.

What is the reasoning behind banning Pokemon forum links from signatures?

Items in signatures do not influence discussion and do not lead to spam and rulebreaking. PokeBeach in general seems to be very lax about what can be included within signatures (such as the plethora of terrible MLP gif sigs). Additionally, PokeBeach evidently supports small forums through the existence of the PokeBeach Groups section.

Just seems very backwards to me?

@xxashxx: I think you misunderstood my post, I'm talking about links in signatures. What you have in your signature does not add to anything you might discuss within a thread. You cannot derail the thread topic by what is in your signature.

@6-D: I understand that point, but if people post recklessly to advertise their signature then surely these people are already in violation of a pre-existing rule (don't spam). And if they post without spamming it's not a problem. I also understand that situations are not exactly this clear cut and that people may be reducing post quality but not enough to avoid a warning. But if this quality is deemed unfit for PokeBeach (as evidenced by the existence of this new rule), then it's the spam rule which needs to be enforced on a more strict basis.

Usually as long as it is in a topic that you are talking about at the time they are usually ok. But if it is directly asking for someone to come see this then that is wrong. It is not backwards if it is not direct XD.:)

I think it is essentially to stop the advertising of PokeSunrise. After awhile, some members' sigs became only PokeSunrise ads, and it seemed like showing their sig was the only reason they posted. I believe that the ruleis just to be equal and not blatantly antagonize PokeSunrise.

EDIT: @bacon- these are good points.

If they were posting just to post, then they should be warned for spamming. If you have a good post and you're advertising, then IMO, I'd say congrats to you, but that's just me.

I hope my sig isn't against the rules, I checked everything over and it seems not to be, but just to make sure.

All of those links are perfectly okay. :)

If it is to a page that is not on Pokebeach and is not advertising. (For example to cite a source for a question)

Please make sure that Pokebeach does not have a page on it first.

Ok, what about images from bulbapedia? Can we post images from bulbapedia on here?

I'm pretty sure the answer's yes since you're just linking a picture. Just so long as the picture isn't advertising (and it shouldn't), then you're fine.

Remember to give credit to avoid any mishaps for using the picture. We don't want WPM sued for some dumb mistake like that XD.:)

WPM wouldn't be (effectively) sued for that kind of action, xxashxx. Especially since the rules are already against it.
