An Interesting Idea for Swampert

So I was looking at Swampert's moves on Bulbapedia and came across some moves that interested me. they where Curse, Superpower, and Yawn. Here is what I came up with for a moveset so far.

Swampert @ ??? (Probably leftovers)
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Adamant/Brave Nature
Yawn
Curse
Superpower
Waterfall/Aqua Tail/Avalanche/Earthquake/Ice Punch

So the main idea here is to force switches with Yawn and use Curse the turn they switch. Afterwards, you can curse again and then Superpower and not get a true stat drop, since you still have a boost. Waterfall and such are coverage or STAB moves. The main issue with this set is under standard rules, If they stay in on yawn, you can't use yawn anymore. I also know that Hammer Arm is a less accurate, less powerful option and then gets rid of Curse's point.

So I want to know, what would be some good ideas for this set or should it be forgotten about all together? I think it has potential, but also seems a bit gimmicky. Please share some of your opinions.

As big a fan of Swampert I am, this probably has no chance unless its in Trick Room. Without Rindo Berry, any (legitimately threatening) Grass move OHKO's it. A good idea, nonetheless. Could you give an example of a possible lead (if it's Doubles) or a couple more teammates?

No I didn't think of this for Doubles, but is possible in doubles. In doubles I guess you could add protect so your partner can set up Trick Room (chandelure is the best option since it can hit Super-effective on STAB energy Ball users.).You'd probably want to drop yawn for doubles.

Ok. That's cool, and it probably would be better in Singles like that anyways.

EDIT: This was my 400th post!:p

If you're talking Singles (BW OU), Swampert just isn't good. It doesn't have the bulk nor the resistances to take powerful attacks such as CB Close Combat, Rain Boosted Hydro Pumps, and Specs Draco Meteor. It has a 4x weakness to Grass, making it extremely vulnerable to Celebi, Ferrothorn, and Chlorophyll sweepers. Quagsire outclasses him on the defensive side, having Unaware to ignore boosts on the opponent's side, which is huge in the metagame right now, while being able to boost its own defences with Stockpile. On the offensive side, it's completely outclassed by Gyarados, who hits harder, has a better movepool, and has Dragon Dance to boost it's offensive prowess. The only reason you'd ever want to use Swampert is for Stealth Rock.

What about in UU?? Isn't that his current stance? This was jsut an idea I didn't look into threats etc.

Swampert is a bit more potent in UU, but it still isn't the best option. Defensively it's still outclassed by Quagsire, as I stated above. Offensively it has a bit more potential, but it can't keep up with pokemon such as Azumarill and Sharpedo. It does serve as a bulky attacker and Stealth Rock user in UU, but even then Suicune and Slowbro make better bulky sweepers and Stealth Rock isn't exactly uncommon in UU. However, he has a bit more potential in UU, being a physical bulky attacker. But no boosting moves or reliable recovery really cripple Swampert's chances at doing much. Someone more experienced in UU may correct me, however.

It could probably work with the berry that reduced damage from grass moves. It probably wouldn't be good enough, but it would definitely make a fun guy to use.

Yeah, he's not going to stand a chance against Roserade, the most commmon UU Pokemon. To put it in perspective, she's good enough to be used in one out of every five teams. Running a Rindo(I think that's the Grass one) berry won't do too much. It still only protects against one Grass attack, and Swampert will sorely miss the Lefties recovery. You'd best save a set like this for in-game teams.
