Ancient Origins [8/15, aka Bandit Ring]

Soooo 14 SR's mean that there are no FA supporters in this set!!! 11 FA to account for all the RR's And the last 3 for the shinys.

Unless Ace Trainer or something gets an FA supporter, which could happen. Unlikely, due to the 14 FAs, but anything can happen.

Yep, you're right. Assuming we get all 11 EXs as FA (and if PRC and ROS are any indication we will) then there will be no FA Supporters unless MRay is the start of the SRs (highly unlikely).

See that's the thing though, if there is a full art supporter than that means that one or two of the RR's in bandit ring wont get a full art. There are 11 RR's and 11 SR's ( FULL ARTS ) in bandit ring , plus the 3 UR shinys.

Groudon might be decent as a one-of. It has good synergy with Focus Sash. Kyogre doesn't seem good at all.

Let me tell you my problem with this idea.

Two scenarios.

1: You're sitting a Focus Banded Groudon in the bench. Well, you may as well evolve it to OB P Groudon, because it'll be far more protected from damage such that healing won't even be an issue.

2: You're sitting a Focus banded Groudon in the active. So you're attacking with Groudon EX? You've powered up a Groudon to 4 energy but are holding off on Mega Evolving and getting OHKOs because you want to show off the fact you can get hit and recover?

This Groudon has no use at all in Groudon deck. Groudon should not be taking damage period until it's ready to start OHKO'ing. The only synergy with Focus Sash is getting two uses, but if you're down to 10HP and Revert, you've ended your turn without attacking. Now they drop you down again to 10HP and your whole ruse is pretty much null.

With all of the talk about the number of FA's and whether any supporters will get any, I urge you to check out the Bandit Ring set list discussion thread where, since we know that there will be 97 cards in the set (excluding secret rares) and M-Ray is number 95, there is at least 2 slots upon for Full arts to come after him, with Ace Trainer potentially being one of them, and a second supporter easily doable with the space we have in the trainers section.

Now, Groudon and Kyogre look fantastic, though it is a bit hard to distinguish Shiny Kyogre from the first FA Kyogre we got considering how dark the lighting is.

I wouldn't use the Theta Max versions of any of those guys.

I'm a Pokemon TCG collector, I have every Pokemon in its original generation in all the forms available (ex Castform, Deoxys, Arceus).

Should I get the Shiny Hoenn Legendary trio in the next expansion?

That still doesn't make any sense though , the full art supporters are secret rares and there are only 11 secret rares ( or "super rares" lol ) in bandit ring. so now im a little confused.

Beautiful. I'll have to buy some extra code cards to have a better chance of getting these or trade fodder on tcgo

hah, called it... Theta Max for all 3... Groudon looks freakin' menacing, Kyogre not so much, and we'll need a better image to apreciate its shininess...

That trait is actually worse than their previous ones on both. Pretty cards nonetheless!

There might be some hope for them though; sometimes what would technically be the inferior version of a card makes for decent TecH. In this case there are other factors (like Mega Turbo) that might offset what was lost from the other version (re: speed or protection) so that for those times when you needed a massive amount of healing without bouncing the card/discarding all its Energy, there ya go; a small niche.

Hmm...I don't think Kyogre will see play in favor of the old version, at least in my Kyogre deck. At least it looks nice. But who knows, maybe the peoples will see a way to play at least one of them.

In my opinion, Ray got the best art. Lucky guy. XD
