Depending on how you do, yep! From 5 PM to 8 AM, very valuable beetles appear on palm trees on the island. Catch the bugs (and the occasional shark) with the rental net (and occasional rod), put 'em in the box, then go back and sell at Re-Tail for a ton of cash. Here are some tips to maximize the profits.
1) Chop down every tree on the grass, pluck every flower, and uproot every bush. From what I've experienced, only about 4 bugs can be in the same general area at once, and a lot of these bugs that occupy the non-beach trees and flowers aren't worth a lot compared to what you can get from the beach trees. Sure, emperor butterflies are worth 2500 bells a pop, but the golden stag is worth 12000 bells each!
2) Only catch the valuable stuff. Each beetle you'll find on those trees will be worth at least 8000 bells (with one exception being worth 6000).
3) Back to the bug limit--I noticed that no more bugs spawn if 4 bugs are in the same general area. Scare off any bugs that roam around on the grass and sand (wharf roaches and tiger beetles) and make those hermit crabs go back to the ocean where they belong and you'll surely have a ton of valuable beetles to catch!
4) This goes without explanation, but sneak slowly--some beetles like the golden stag require you to sneak at around half the maximum sneaking speed.
5) Set the town's ordinance to Bell Boomer. This will make items more valuable...whether you're buying them or selling them. Re-Tail will also have 2 high-price items each day instead of 1, increasing the chances of them paying premium for a valuable bug.
