Anime Recommendations

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

I just finished watching Steins;Gate (there's only the OVA left to watch). I loved the show, so thanks to those who recommended it!

I recently got recommended to watch Clannad. Has anyone here watched it? What did you think about it?

I'm planning follow 3 shows now at the same time (for each anime a few episodes per week). They will be One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist (Brotherhood), and most likely Clannad. I'd like to hear some reviews for the last one, though!

It will be the first time I will follow multiple anime simultaneously except for a few very short ones or on-going ones where I watch the new episode each week. I'm used to focusing on one anime at a time so that will be new for me too.

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

After spending a few seasons doing that while watching new shows as they come out in Japan (usually it's one episode a week, so it's not a big commitment to watch 4-5 shows at a time), I actually found out that I had a harder time keeping track of them all and soon switched back to just focusing on one (maybe two) shows at a time. Though, I do think it was a good way to weed out shows I didn't have much interest in. I hope it works out well for you, but if, like me, you find yourself not grasping the shows as well, it's no big deal to watch just one at a time, especially shows that are already complete (or at least very long-running series like One Piece where you have literally hundreds of episodes to catch up on).

Clannad is extremely popular, you can't go wrong there.

I'm also worried I won't be able to keep track of it all! The thing is that I want to start watching shows like One Piece and eventually Naruto. But if I do that and only watch one at a time, it will take too long before I can watch the next. I'll probably take your advice and go for two! One long one and one short one. Now what's left to decide is to go for Brotherhood or Clannad first.

Also I hope the new Fairy Tail episodes will start to air again soon! It's my all-time favorite anime. I can't wait for the new episodes! :D

@Teal: Which do you find better, Clannad or Brotherhood?

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

That's actually not a bad idea. Longer shows have much different pacing that shorter ones, and once you get into the longer one, it'll be easier to keep track. Hope it works out well for you!

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

What should I watch next? My favorites so far are Code Geass (by far my favorite), Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun. The only other two I've seen are DTB season one, and Black Butler season one. Looking for short Animes, so nothing over 100 episodes.

Watch Psycho-Pass.

Watch Psycho-Pass.

And Steins;Gate. My gosh. One of the best series' I've ever seen, quite literally. It is a slow start, though, and around episode seven it cranks up to some really awesome stuff.

I would also recommend Chaos;Head. If you enjoy Mind Destruction Sandwiches with a side of Insanity Eggs, then watch Chaos;Head. It is only 12 episodes, so it is definitely worth the slowish start.

Also, watch Fullmetal Alchemist. FMA is one of those things where it seems to be a slow start and fantasy, but then you realize, after a few episodes in, that it is definitely Sci-Fi and just how fast-paced it is. It is around 40 to 60 episodes and is topped off with a movie. Little warning, though, if you watch FMA you'll most likely want to watch the second anime that follows the manga: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. They're both around 60 episodes, and they both have unique stories, save a couple of major plot points.

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

I'd say Baccano! for TokyoToots after Psycho-Pass.

@ Drohn: I Recommend watching Bleach, Black Butler, .Hack\\sign, OP, Full Metal Alchemist, Code Lyoko (I like this when I was a kid), Digimon, and most of all Sword Art Online

I am currently watching Sword Art Online and it has plenty of Humor, Action, Romance..... Its about a 10,000 gamers who bought this neat virtual neuro helmet which put you into the game, but once there in the game...they find out there is no logout button and they cant get out, The creator of the game summons them to a plaza and explains details and that if they die in the game, they die for real and only way to get out is to beat the final boss on the final floor. The protagonist is kirito (think I spelled it right) and he is not that social but lightens up over time, and meets really hilarious people such as kleine. XD

If you like Cowboy Beebop I suggest Michiko to Hatchin, it's only 22 episodes.

I recommend not watching any these shows, except One Piece and FMA because the rest is either bad or not targeted at you, Drohn.

Why is that? It's quite popular. I haven't watched it, but I always thought it was quite liked!

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

Go watch LoveLive for a cutefest and some fun anime music lol.

Heard people like SAO so much as well. I just didn't want to join the wagon.

Don't forget all the plot twist and yes the action is cool,
I admit it slow for a little bit, but overall your surprised by some of the characters.

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

Bleach should be remade when the manga is done. Fillers in general make any anime annoying to watch

RE: Anime Recommendations Thread

Also, just because something is popular, that doesn't mean it's good.
