Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (Cover Art added: 9/5/2012)

I

Incinermyn

Hmm... I'd been mulling it over for a while and finally decided to make a serious art thread for my drawings and sketches not directly used in the Fakedex posted as part of my fanfic Feral Twilight. Some are older, some are new, and most...just not good... But rather than rant, I'll just share and see what people actually (just don't get overly critical please, since I'm very aware of my lack of skills)...

Concepts from Fanfics

Buizel/Weasinge Valentine's Day (Original Idea/Original Character use)

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork

Unbelievable, you write fan fics like a God, and now you can draw Fan fic related things like a God, you are truly gifted with creativity.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork

Thanks! :D

Really, it's not that uncommon for writers in general to get into some sort of artistry too (or even get into collab works with artists either). I've always enjoyed drawing, so that was a given for me when I started writing as well that I'd do concept sketches.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork

Your welcome, I like the idea of the weapons for your work, but I am a writer, (who is too scared to post his fan fic on the beach) and I have always enjoyed drawing, I think it is just insparation from the books that lets us draw so well.

You might want to add some color to some of the pokemon works, then they would be even more godly

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork

I like doing handdrawn stuff more, but I think I may get back into trying digital art again someday soon.

Also, the weapons were ideas I came up with a while ago, but only a few of them I actually reference in my fics (like Orion's bowstaff in Feral Twilight and Seraph's arsenal in Biohazard). Even so, they were kind of cool to draw and I may do some more sketches of them in the near future amongst other pictures.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork

You should totally get back into the digital art.

The ideas are amazing, I can't even create something like that, and I draw a lot of weapons, excluding guns. Keep going these are great

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

It's been a while since I've touched this thread, but hopefully nobody will mind me reviving it since I actually have got some new artworks to add. Granted, some are include pics I've already posted in my Fakedex coupled in my fanfic Feral Twilight, but they're mostly just for reference since the newer ones wouldn't make sense to anyone who hadn't been keeping up with my stories.

Golbania Concepts
Golbania: A four-headed snake believed to have been born around the same time that the Time-Space-Antimatter triad were is widely heralded in Ronac as the protector of The Nexus (a rift between realities that prevents them from destroying one another, as well as the dividing barrier between physical plain of Leyi Quofyi and the spiritual one of Beyi Quofyi). The siblings work in unison to restrain the explosive clashes between Palkia and Dialga as well as to limit Giratina's access to the physical dimensions.
Sly: Symbolic of deep wisdom, Sly is usually the first head to present himself to enemies in battle as if he means to reason with them first and only seriously attacks in self-defense.
Chaste: Symbolic of purity, Chaste typically fights only as an indirect means to balance out the severity and wickedness of his brother Conviction.
Serenity: Though symbolic of peacefulness and goodwill, Serenity often finds himself lured to the savagery of conflict and doesn't think twice about fighting with others (even his siblings) for the sheer thrill and pleasure of battle.
Conviction: Symbolic of shrewd cunning and determination, Conviction is the most analytical and calculating of the four brothers. He often emerges to fight against any enemy that approaches him, but sometimes hesitates until he has a better understanding of his opponents.

Zomborg, Zombrong, and Zombroken Concepts
Zomborg: The fomer prototype for a series of mechinical horses meant to replace Rapidash and Ponyta used as workhorses on farms throughout the Ronac region during the mid-to-late 1800s and early 1900s, Zomborg was discontinued due to constant maintainance needs and stored away within the original factory they were made in. Over time, wandering tribal spirits possessed the robot and supposedly overrun the factory, forcing it to suddenly shutdown. Years later, these Pokemon still wander the facility's premises and gang up on any thing that happens to approach them.
Zombrong: The evolved form of Zombroken only came into existence because trainers who managed to capture the heavy-metal ungulates exposed them to powerful negative energies on their journeys, causing the ghosts inside them to transform into demons.
Zombroken: Eventually one Zombrong's hind legs rusted enough where they finally broke off and allowed for the contained demons to be released from their prison. However, a pair of soul-eaters spoken of in ancient Ronac lore immediately came after the spirits and chased them back inside. To prevent their prey from escaping again, the monsters used their magic to mend the broken areas shut and forged a pair of chariot wheels from the scrap iron that once comprised the Pokemon's rear shins.
Faces of the Zomborg line: This was different concept I wanted to try in order to better show how this series of Fakemons' heads change after each evolution.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

Definatly needs more proportion. The things look really derpy, except the snakes. But I mean come on, they're snakes. Snake proportions aren't really that hard to draw since they have no legs and stuff. Try and study some proportion if you get the chance, along with stances. Trace things if you have to in order to get a better feel for proportion and stances and things, thats what I did. It makes your drawings a lot more streamlined and just better in general. The weapons look fine though.

Proportions have always been something I've struggled with, but I'll try and work on them. Thanks for the input, Hatman!

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

I already expressed my opinion of your creations in the chat previously, although allow me to repeat myself.

I enjoy witnessing your creativity ignite with life as an illustration. Your imagination knows no limits, and it certainly shows. I don't believe I could envision half of what is here; there is something unique about your creations. I must say, there is nothing quite like them anywhere else. Keep it up, Apollo! I look forward to seeing more of your artwork and your growth as an artist.

P.S. - Good news! I re-illustrated the old sketch and recovered the concept. I am back on track with Destail :)

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

Gosh...
So, first you draw amazing buizel art, along with some extremely creative weapons...
Then I check this again, and WHAT! you have FAKEMON! You are improving very well. I want to see more...

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

Woah Apollo, Doxi Lugia looks mad! Better than shadow Lugia!

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Updates: 11/26/2011)

@MrGatr: Most of my fakemon art is posted as part of Feral Twilight's thread for the reason I'm not comfortable posting it in art or faking forums most of the time. Also, it's part of a lengthy writing project, so it seemed more appropriate to keep my Fakedex there instead.

@mpain0: Doxi-Lugia is supposed to be my version of Shadow Lugia. But instead of being a proper Shadow Pokemon, he's an alternate form of my Fakemon Doxinox.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Zomborg Update: 12/19/2011)

*cracks knuckles* Alrighty, then...

I took some extra time out over the latter part of last week to rework the picture of Zomborg's Head/Profile. While I won't vouche for its "perfection," I'm pleased with the results. For the most part, anyways... This was really the first digital artwork I've tried to do shading in, and it seems sort of off to me for some reason.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (New Zomborg Update: 12/19/2011)

It took me the better part of a few months, but I finally got around to finishing Zombrong's head pic. The shading may be a little off, considering that I tried to have the light source focused in the upper left-hand side so that it gave a somewhat more sinister appearance to the monster since he is a Steel and Ghost type.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (Zombrong: 3/3/12)

*Sighs* No new comments... I usually wouldn't multi-post like this, but this is too significant of update to just add to the previous posts. Not to mention, doing that would've just allowed this thread to get ignored further. And, worst comes to worst, I can just merge posts if anyone has issues with me doing stuff like I would with fanfic updates.

You draw them as if they were gods. :)

Great work! As for problems, you could try to improve a little on your shading...

True. The three heads are actually supposed to be cylindrical in shape, so there would be more lighting towards their tops than how I've got them now. I'll try and work on better shading in my next picture.

RE: Apollo's Non-Fakedex Artwork (Zombroken: 3/7/12)

A minor update with some sketches of new fakemon concepts. I haven't gotten around to scanning them and writing up Fakedex info for Feral Twilight yet, so that's why I'm sharing them here as art updates. I'm not too fond of how Miroc turned out, considering it's got such a simple design...

I like Skoyxil! *Leo luffs and hugs Skoyxil.* The way you made him look is just fantastic! :)
